Its not a matter of exhasut per say. I had the same problem with my Curren. If all your cats are there and in working condition then the problem is dirty injectors. You can buy Injector cleaner and put in your gas or if you can wait do what i did. Drive it extremely hard for 15-20 minutes and the injectors will clear up.

btw, its always best to take your car for MOT after a service and if you can let your mechanic take to MOT, making this his problem.

Also, you can tell your mechanic to tace out the injectors and clean them, but you must really trust him before you choose this as most mechanic will just mess up your injectors instead.

As Neoklis said, your may have had a decat, did your lambda sensor perform in range, should show up on your emission printout. Some fuel cleaner/ injector cleaners can knock your emissions down, best to go for that route first as its the cheapest, then check for leaky injectors, fuel regulator problems.

CO: <0.30% but was 0.76% - HC:< 200ppm vol read 66pm vol - lambda: 0.970-1.030 read 1.024 which was really marginal i guess

any ideas what the figures may indicate the fault??
