Uhm there are only 2 companies that made exhaust for our cars (Apexi and Greddy, right?) but both are no longer being made.

I too, am considering having a shop do dual exhaust; the downsides are that our engines, even turbo'd or swipped, still dont put out enough gas to make the DP exhaust needed from a flow standpoint. So, the split in the exhaust isn't NEEDED. Do a search on this, you'll find the answers.

BTW, as for sound, I can only dream of how a dual point, quad ended exhaust would sound smile.gif Every outlet you have doubles the sound- so dual point would be double, and then if you say, did dual point.. with dual tips on each point. hehehe smile.gif

Do a search, there have been discussions.

I had ricer-ish custom dual exhaust on my car a long time ago, and I didn't like it at all. Exhaust gas ran out of one pipe more than the other, which I'm sure looked really dumb when it was cold out and you could see way more exhaust coming out one side than the other.

After that, I got a single muffler with 2.5" custom piping, which I liked way more.

After I got sick of the big single muffler, I got a smaller muffler, replaced the cat with a resonator, and I'm even happier now, although my car is really loud. My parents can literally hear my car half of a mile from my house, but I've yet to get harassed about loud exhaust from cops.

But now I want to go back to a really quiet exhaust so that I can hear more of my engine and my four throttle setup. biggrin.gif

coomer.... not harrassed by the cops? ... yea right biggrin.gif

I though of the dual setup, but like ya said... you'd have to split it perfectly even so that the gas goes out each pipe. I have a custom intake on my car right now, and at WOT no ricer civic with a 4" pipe is going to say anything.

Its super loud .... Brooom BROOOOOOOOM

No, it just sounds like coomer's was a little ehhh. Frankly, I'm edging away from them; because it's hard to get one that works right (as coomer points out) and you dont need that kind of airflow for our engines- even turbo'd

reason for more gas out of one tail pipe to the other is one of two things:

1) The pipe is split after the tail box, so the gas is forces down the standard channel
2) The pipes are different lengths so the gas takes longer to come out on thn the other.

Look at the under side of a high powered Jaguar or BMW to see what I mean.

Over here in the UK we have a company called Powerflow. They make anything, any size, any shape tailpipe, even how loud you want it, all in stainless. Thats where I'll be going! biggrin.gif

You arent going to get true dual exhaust on a 4cyl; you can get something to mimic the mr2/etc...but thats about it.
