I need an induction kit for my celica ST it is the 1.8 uk spec ST. I was wondering if the GT induction kit will fit cause from what i can gather the intakes are fairly similar. If not what model and year civic pipes can i use??

induction? you mean like a cold air intake? if so, you can buy one here.

Induction actually is the forcing of air into your engine by use of Turbocharger or superchagers.... Nitrous is also considered induction.

Don't waste your time turboing an St of a Gt. Niether of these engines can handle the boost of a turbo, and they don't make a charger to my knowledge for these engines.

The compression is too high to reach any real gains from forced induction, you would
notice a difference. and It would be faster but for the money you would spend it would be better to swap a 3sgte.... you can run upto 14lbs of boost on stock intnerals. compared to 8lbs at the best on a St or Gt. That is a BIG difference.

Also the lift and duration on the cams of both the St and Gt are not set up for forced induction.... They are set up for a N/A application... which it is. To see real gains from the turbo you would have to change your cams to allow for more lift and less duration.

You can use civic pipes anywhere from the 92-00 models. You can purchase them from lots of places such as AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts. They are shaped just right that they will fit into your engine bay with ease, from there, get a K&N filter to go with it or a Blitz filter. Total costs will still be under $100

again, not to doubt you. but I believe induction as a word would indicate anything that would aid in sucking air into the engine, ie: a short ram or cold air intake. forced induction on the other hand would be a turbo or supercharger that 'forces' air into the engine thereby creating boost.

also the 7AFE is a suprisingly boost friendly engine. I have no personal experience, but several people on celica.net have had good results with mild turbo applications. not to mention that Toyota actually offered the 7AFTE in a Australian spec Corolla, which indicates that they have a relative degree of trust in the 7AFE's ability to handle boost.

If you want to get super technical... you are right. I'm just used to refering to forced induction as just induction... and just a Air intake as N/A... Naturally asperated, or just as an intake... I probably should of made myself a little clearer .... sorry
