Ok been thinking about this for about a year now and have finally decided to post and throw some fliers around the area. Basically I want an all toyota club...celicas mr2 and supras. I want some show cars I want some street cars, i want some time slip cars and I want some cars under construction... I don't want this to be a club that is impossible to get into... I def. want some nice cars in here but I'm not gonna shutt people out of it just b/c they haven't dumped 20k in their toyota yet...
Right now I'm trying to get some people that would be intrested to give me opinions, suggestions etc... basically what would you guys want out of a club? meeting how often what should they consist of? where and when should we show, race, etc... sponsors...who would you be intrested in sponsor wise.... i really need some feed back even if you're not intrested in joining I really want to hear what you guys want.
Currently I'm in central PA but i will allow the club to be as nonexistant or as huge as it ends up getting....so please e- mail me and let me know what you guys think and if you are intrested e- mail me your name, car, where you're from and your expectations at ToyTunerKC@AOL.COM

Just in response to your request for info (Houston's way to far from PA to make joining feasible):
3 guys from 6GC.net got together to form the Houston Toyota Club last summer. It was Negative (me), Saynug and Badazzgt. We got over 25 members just in the first night including a GT2 and a 5th gen al-trac, many MKIII Supras etc. It has been great so far - we meet at least once a week and now have over 40+ serious members and are fixing to do our first shows etc.
It seems like you have the right idea about asking people what they want from the club and allowing the club to grow at it's own rate etc. This is what we did and it worked better than everyone expected.
Another suggestion I would make is that while you have to have some form of leadership it should not be a dictatorship. Not everyone is going to agree with a "Leader" all the time and it can make problems from the start. We recognized this right from the beginning and so had a triumverate of leadership setup with all members getting an equal vote and the three leaders making choices only when really important/controversial things pop up as they will. This is where three leaders with opposing views can make for a good setup. Sort of like checks and balances.
Check out our website ( www.houstontoyotaclub.com )which now boasts over 175+ members and 1000+ posts. Actually we 100 members, 1000 posts within 15 days of starting the site.
I think all of our members would agree that it has been really cool and benificial to all of us.
