I live in South County. To be even more specific, I live in Oakville. Also, one of my friends (not on the forums) has a '94 Celica GT. We are the only 6th gens I see on the road for the most part. Let me know where you live and how old you are, were only 16, but ill be 17 in 2 months.

Their isn't much you can do to our cars unless you have money. Or you do what they said and take everything out. But overall look at the good side if your car has been well taken care of it will practically outlast anything on the road (except another toyota.) But if you have the money you can do the mods.

The slack's kinda annoying 'cos it means you have to push the gas pedal down a bit before the throttle actually does anything. if you can remove the slack, then the throttle is there instantly and if you do it just right, then the car shouldn't idle any higher either if i remember correctly, it's not a particularly difficult job to do....(even though i can't remember how i did it!) Just get under your bonnet and go for it! This post has been edited by raz128: Aug 29, 2004 - 2:50 PM -------------------- |

FINALLY somebody said it and with authority. It really ticks me off when I go to the PR car forums and there's these people trying to make up their mind between a Corolla, a Matrix, a Lancer, etc. and then when they get the car and take it to the track, the bitch that it's slow. HELLO...they are econo-cars. EVEN the performance-oriented ones like the Matrix XR-S, the Corolla XR-S, Lancer Ralli Art, etc. are still slow. They expect to get big numbers out of an intake and exhaust. THEN, there's the other people that are impressed when those cars run 16s, 15s, and 14s. WOW...14 seconds in the quarter mile. Yeah, it's nice that they improved from their 17s and 18s in the quarter mile but still...it's not a fast car...it's just faster than stock. And I'm not saying this because my Supra puts out good power, because I think it's slow too...even though I can go out to the track and pop consistent mid to low 11s. I say it because it's true. If you want something fast, get a fast car. If you can't afford it, don't expect miracles from what you buy. -------------------- |

hey. i'm a noob here.... i drove a 6gen ST before and after my dumb ass friend crashed it, i got myself a 6gen GT. lotsa power difference.... free performance... i think nothing's free.. but there's definitely cheap performance stuff.... i got my intake for 20bucks, replaced it with a K&N filter $25, got a breather filter from auto zone, 11bucks, replace all sparks with iridium sparks..$50bucks+, if you are in NYC.... instead of spending $400++ on Greddy SP catback.. get a muffler you like and go to shea stadium to redo the piping... i got mine for $100 plus tip. their welding skills are alrite... hope i helped in any way.
