If you guys had the money to buy a lil beter newer car like maybe a newer eclipse, would you still buy the 6 generation celica or do u buy the celica because you just love it so much and its so good looking and beneficial? For some reason i get the feeling that some people on here have the celica because they somehow ended up with it due to not putting on a body kit. The celica without a kit looks kinda ugly if u know what i mean.

i mean this is a site devoted to the 6gen celica... even though its just your opionion, coming here and saying you think the celica is ugly without a kit isnt going to get a warm welcome... id say more than half the people on this site think the celica the best looking car without a kit....

I think the 6 gen celica with a body kit looks much nicer than with the stock bumpers. Perhaps that is what lucass means. I just like more angles than smooth round curves. But I'd take the celia look over an eclipse any day

Newer does not = better. Mitsubishi does not = better. It = crap. How does someone end up with a celica due to not putting on a kit? IF and ONLY IF I had the money I'd get a WRX, GC8. -------------------- |

wow noway...the celica with out a kit is great looking....the celica doesnt really have grooves on the body like you find with other cars.....its smooth and clean looking (makes dents stand out like a champ too)...personaly the kit that most people have on her is the stuff you find on ebay...i dont like that its to airplane like giving it to make curves...plus throw in the 3sgte and you got a sweet sleeper...anways....thats my opinon

When buying a car you need to look further than just looks. reliability is the main factor for me as well as what I am getting for my money. I prefer Toyota over any other car. I would never buy an Eclipse, dont get me wrong the eclipse is a very good looking car but is it reliable? does it hold the value?
Here is the list of the cars I had Corolla 1983 ... yeah the 1.8 Corolla 1986 GTS twin cam ... oh yeah the migthy twin cam Then I got into the Celica Celica GTS hatchback 1988 Celica AllWD turbo 1988 Celica GT conv 1989 Celica GT conv 1993 Celica GT conv 1998 Celica GT conv 1999 - current Lexus GS300 1999 (still a Toyota) Toyota Tacoma double cab V6 2002- current As you can see.. I can not get enough of Toyota. I dont like the new Celica as much as the 6 gen... I'll be waiting if they decide to release a new conv and then I will decide but I dont like it now. you need to define what is it that you want... If you are looking for speed then look elsewhere unless you want to do an engine swap, if you are looking for a great looking car that is reliable then look no further |

I wouldnt mind a lip kit, but **** my car looks great already, and if I liped it I couldnt lower it, which makes it look much nicer. I choose not to have a kit. If I had a lil more money I would put a lil more money into my celica . Also, I dint end up with it, unless you mean I looked for 3 months and fell in love with the celica I found and bought it.

i dont think your car looks great in fact it looks a bit crappy because of the under car lights. pop a kit on it. or maybe its just me talking out of my ass. id have to get a real close look at the car.

your crazy man i love the look of the celi. nice curves beautiful body, only thing i dont like about the celica is the front end. the front bumper kinda comes to a point like from the tires to the front of the car it angles up a little. but the celica is a amazing car. also the 96+ model front ends look a little better
slipguns car looks awesome especially the front end (the new front and the fog lights) the rims arnt my taste. theyres few bad looking celicas(but the mcdonalds gt-4 falls into that small percentile) -------------------- Former: 96 GT 5 speed (i/p/e) Fate- rear ended by mack truck
00 GTS 6 speed (i/ Bored TB 63mm - 68.5mm w/ butterfly/ Ported IM/ IMG/ PFC/ Commander/ datalogit/ Ported & heat wrapped Header/ Decat/ UEGO/) 193FWHP 14.2(1/4mi) @98mph, 2.12 60ft (just intake, unbolted Exhaust, and gutted) Fate- side swipped by 18 wheeler at 75mph. Next: maybe an elise |

lucass I think your an idiot. If you don't like the way then 6gc looks then don't get one. 6gc looks great with a with or without a kit. If you like the 6gc then get one and put a kit on it, just don't put peoples cars down.
I'd say go for the eclipse, then you wouldn't be on this forum. |

Now thats a hot non-kitted celica ! 6TH gen celica is a very well built car. I wont be surprised if these evo's start start tapping or burning oil in a couple of years. I like to see kitted celi's as well. but I'm very tired of the invader veilside knockoff. This post has been edited by defgeph: Sep 28, 2004 - 4:33 PM -------------------- I will return one day. |

if you don't like the way it looks why are you even considering getting one? performance isn't that great, upgrades are expensive, the suspension is dated etc. why do I have one? I like the way it looks, the way its built, its reliability, I can go on and on. but quite simply if you don't like it, don't buy it. and don't come on here and insult other peoples cars, that type of behavior doesn't fly on this forum.

chill i love the car i wa only kidding. im getting one cause i know toyota tis great. my family went through a bunch of cars and all are toyotas. my dads first new 92 tercel still running today and the only thing he changed were spark plugs like twice and something with the muffler. I also hear that toyotas engine just starts to warm up at 100,000 miles.

We realize you don't think the Celica looks good from the factory without a kit, and that's fine with us, but don't be insulting members' cars.
Personally, I think that non-kitted Celicas look great once they're lowered with some rims. There are a couple angles from which my car doesn't look that great, but generally I love how it looks. What color yellow are you planning on going with? And what kind of Celica? If you want a yellow coupe with an engine swap, I'll sell you mine now that it's running perfectly. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
