i hear about the coilovers and grinding and the such could someone post a picture of a strut with a coilover on it. also what is the difference between the springs and coilovers other than greater adjustment ability on the coilovers.

if you take a look at your stut there is a gold ring on the bottom of where the shaft goes into the housing. inorder for the coilver to slide over it the gold ring needs to be grinded down flush with the rest of the housing or just enough that is has enough clearance for it to slide on. you need to wrap some duct tape around the housing i think i used like 2 or so wraps it just needs to be snug. if it's hard to get it on get a 2x4 and a mallot and start wailing on it. if you need to get these off in the future i took a tow strap and got my winter beater s-10 and found a a telephone pole and tied one end of the strut to the pole and i took another strap and wrapped in around the coilover part and the strap went from the to the hitch on the truck and i just gunned it and pop it came off. it worked pretty nice. and for the grinding part i used and angle grinder i bought a cheap one for like 25 bucks a 4 1/2 inch one. be carefull when your grinding not to nich the shaft otherwise you got a problem.
