Today I went to Firestone and Kragen for pricing on install for the Eibach Sportlines and just about lost it. I started yelling at the first guy cause i couldn't believe it so they brought in the manager.
Firestone - $410 (buncha bulllllllllshiat)
Kragen - $400

Anyone else get this high for install on some springs?
I kno they gotta take off the strut but the guy said it takes them an hour and a half for front and then the same for the backs..I mean im no pro and i think i could do it better than that, all i need is the machine. But if anyone knows where i could get em installed for cheaper or if someone lives near san fran and want's to help im down to put em in. But these guys were just homo.

thats RIDICULUS..i paid 150 for springs and struts/shocks..

my friend got quoted for his civic si from a lower and lifting place for 160 for coilover ...springs would have been cheap..and even that i thought it was alot
soo i changed them out for him...charged them 20 bucks plus a meal at burger kind haha

yeah i know it was really out there that they would charge 400 bucks, anyone know where i could get it done for cheaper, like a place that most towns have like pepboys does that kinda stuff right?

Hey if you want it done right and cheap, do it yourself. Just pull off the wheel take out the bottom and top bolts and change out the springs. There is a how too in the diy section of this site, that is what i would do.

You would be supprised about how easy it is, and i know most people don't try stuff themselves but it is really simple. I just helped my friend change his shocks and neither of us had any idea what we were doing, and we got it done in less than an hour. Just give it a try.

Ohh and by the way, i am not held responsible for any thing that might happen to your car, just in case Gotta save my a$$ ya know

I did my lowering springs and struts/shocks together, parts cost about $310, labor cost me $130 only, I got tein s tech, I dont think the sportslines should cost you more to install, unless they provide you with the camper kit, cuz I hear anyone that put Eibach stuff needs a camper kit, I maybe wrong, gotta see how the Eibach Pro-line's fitment on my friend's celi, it also cost him about the same($120 to put on), but he bought his own camper kit off tirerack...

i remember calling local places back in the day... i got the same type of quotes...300-400.

ended up getting a mechanic friend of mine to do it for me for 100$ with an alignment at his shop.

Its not hard at all to do it yourself. And your not going to need a camber kit. All you need besides the basic tools is a spring compressor, which you can rent (and you usually get all of your money back.) The only thing you should have to pay for is an alignment, which is a must.

dont go to huge-name places...try little places if there are any in Cali
i got mine put on for $125, but then i had to pay $50ish for a alignment.

you can do it yourself, but if you just have stock jack...or not time, find someone to do it for ya

Our shop does springs for roughly 15 dollars a side and coils for roughly 20... It's too easy to charge a sh!t load on...

yeah i think im either gonna try and do the fronts myself and then if i feel up to it do that backs. But if not ill try the little places. Cuz the big places just charge ape shiiiiiiat for prices.

omfg it gets better, the little shops right? 782 and 625 they call for 3 hours fron 2.7 in the back aya yayayaya jesus. why is it so high?

just tackle it yourself. especially if your just doing the springs. take the old ones off, new ones go on exact same way. shouldnt take you long at all.

if you have friends around there...and they know how to do it..pay them 100 bucks and let them do it.

Seriously! and what's with this whole "it'll take an hour on the fronts and two on the back!? It only takes 30 mins. If there are no small shops around there then for that price you could buy an air compressor and an impact wrench and still have money left over to go eat someplace fancy!

Where in California do you live? If in So Cal, there are some places you can check out. Discount Tire Center in El Monte installed Tein S-Tech springs on my friends 2003 Corolla for $275 parts and labor. Gushi Auto in Whittier quoted me $200 for installation only (I know, a bit high). Keep trying other smaller shops -- I'm sure you'll find someone who will do it for less, unless you decide to tackle it yourself. Good luck.

They're looking up labor times... that's all. They want to charge as much as they can. Another reason we do it much cheaper... we're also a performance shop. Usually performance shops will do it much cheaper. Anyway, on the 6th gen Celicas... it's really easy and the spring compression is very mild... so it's not really bad or even that particularly dangerous to do it yourselves without a spring compressor. I'm not saying it's NOT dangerous... but it's not that bad. If you have the tools and a jack... take your time and it'll get done... for free. I'd offer our shop services cheap if there's anyone in the Norcal area that want to do stuff to their Celicas.

yeh man that sounds great. i started goin to little shops and the guy was all yeah no worries dude i-bok springs i got you covered 150 bucks. I was a little worried but i went today and then when he went into the computer it spat out like 2.2 hours fron 2.8 back and 647.53 total my eyes fell out and i left.
