while i am not a big fan of JVC products, i have been told by a couple friends that the JVC Digifine KD-SH55 and the JVC KD-AR7000 are pretty nice HU's. the ones you find at Wal Mart are complete crap i know for sure, a couple friends also had them and the buttons and junk would stick and mess up. look into Alpine, Clarion, and Pioneer Premier

I bought that for my car the second week I owned it (so less then two months ago) and have to say I am pretty pleased with it. I cannot atest to the sound quality compared to other ones but it works rather well except when using mp3 cds it takes a slightly longer time to switch songs. Price you pay for putting 16 albums on a cd biggrin.gif I guess so I can't complain.

I put a JVC unit in my girlfriends car last year....really nice stereo with tons of features and editing abilities, good sound quality and EQ interface also.

Cant go wrong for the price. But just keep in mind that if you plan on building a monster stereo to find one with good preamp outs, and maybe an aux. input for video inputs or external devices.
