my friend asks me to check her schedule at work for her, I said Id do it and I did. Told her she works at 3. Everything seemed okay.
Then went to work today and my manager walks up to me telling me that my friend got fired. Turns out she was workingat 10 not 3.... I read the schedule wrong. My manager said it wasnt my fault and that i shouldn't worry about it, because she never really came into work cuz she called in too many times sayin she cant come to work. Most of the time it was cuz of a sport and the then she got in an accidnent in her car. My mangagers were not happy about it. So the said she had it coming.... But I still feel bad, and I know shes gonna be hella pissed when she sees me tomorow. Cuz shes always the one to blame others. So far eveyone is telling me that its not my fault, and that she shoulda been more responsible for her job and done things for herself. But i dunno.... and she like one of my best friends too... i feel awful. it just really upsets me. ya think its my fault? if I was smarter and could read a friggen schedule she coulda still had her job.... -------------------- 2003 Nissan Murano SE |

I'd be pissed at you too.
But honestly, when she starts bitching at you just say: You know what? I misread the schedule. and thats my fault, and my mistake. But you would have only had your job for what- another couple days? You're the irresponsible one here. If I had been irresponsible like you you would have had to come in and check your own schedule when I forgot to for you. |

She's only been to like 1 full day of work, and thats it.. they wouldnt want someone who cant come in for work. messy situation to say the least... if i were HER, id be way pissed at you because she relied on YOU to tell her correctly... If i were the manager, however, no matter what the situation it is ALWAYS the employee's responsibility to know when they work, no matter what... even though you messed up it still comes down to her responsibility- its her fault for trusting someone else to tell her what her obligation was...

This post made me laugh. Congratulations. Yes. It is your fault. Sure her job was gonna kick her ass out shortly. But you cut the final string. She may have been able to redeem herself. But then you got her fired. Now she can't use that job as a reference. Now she also can't trust you. I dunno what to say really. Down the road, not across the street, okay?

LEARN TO READ THE SCHEDULE YOU DUMB BROAD
I love typing that stuff anyway, NO it isn't your fault. It is the person's own responsibility to know their schedule. Not yours. Your friend should know/check her own schedule. I am a restaurant manager, it is not your fault. -------------------- |

Well, if the managers thought that way about her, I think they were looking any way possible to "let her go" anyhow.. So I don't think it's your fault, but I do think your friend will be really mad. Ha ha ha.

I would be mad, but being that we are best friends...I would definately get over it. I'd rub it in your face every once in a while, but i'd forgive you.

Anyone would be mad at you in that situation, its kinda your fault that your friends (or former friend) trused you to get the right time, and you did not. however if she has been flaken out at work then she did have it coming and you just got cought up in it. Its all a matter of opinion, and you can exspect a good yelling
Is your (former) friend depressed already, it might be wise you take arms, people can get really syco over losed jobs etc, and shot up the work place. (kinda a joke, kinda) personaly I would not trust a blond with something as complicated as counting, or reading, its your friends fault for doing so.
