I just got some dropzone coilovers. I recieved 4 springs, 4 sleeves, the rubber rings, the tops, and 4 perches (the one with the lip). Aren't I supposed to get the other 4 perches?

And, when I installed my coilovers, they raised my car instead of lowering it? (Yes, I am still using my stock shocks, but wouldn't they still lower my car?)

This is what I got a setup like this. What am I doing wrong? HELP! My car is soooo high and ugly!

by perch do u mean the thing that u rotate on the sleeve to raise or lower?? some manufacturers like ground control only have 1 per wheel cuz thats the way its designed. and did u rotate them all the way to the bottom to lower the car??

yes and yes. Is it my shocks?

It is only one perch per wheel. But, I raised it as high as I could, I thought it would lower it this way. But.............the perch sits on the shock, not on and around it (normal). I'm thinking they probably gave the the wrong one??? Because my ride quality is also ****!! My shocks dont' work because the coilovers are on top of it.

Did you install these yourself?

i'd take it to a shop immediately before something goes wrong while your driving -- just my .02.

Ok don't flame on me for saying this....but i think that you mighta put the sleeve on upside down? bcus when my friend and i installed mine we did just that, meaning they would only go up giving me like 3" of tire gap and and it wouldn't lower it. So check on that....it could be the problem. ??? Unless you already figured out the problem. Bcus it seems to me that you did everything correctly?

No, because we installed one side the right way and the other side upside down to make sure. And, I installed with my dad, and he used to be a mechanic for years. We are thinking that the guy sent us wrong coilovers, because the sleeves don't go on and around the shock (or strut). So, I have to find out.

You know my shock housing needed to be ground down in order for the sleeve to fit on the housing. Could that be it?
The sleeve is a 2" diameter right? SO is the shock housing....but it's not a perfect 2" dia. do that's what you have to do for the sleeve to fit on!? I have install pics but I gotta find where I put them.

you are most likely correct. you have to put the perch as low as you can on the sleeve, aaannnnd, grind that ring down that your sleeve is sitting on (based on your description). check out the how-to, and see if that helps. How-To.

Ok, I saw the sites to do this. And I asked my dad, but he says it might not pass State Inspection for my car! What should I do?

You have 2 choices. (a) grind the metal ring on your strut and slide the sleeve all the way to the bottom. (b) buy lowering springs. To my knowledge that is just how most cheap coil-over suspensions work. I have the same setup on the back of my car and I also had to grind that metal ring down. The sleeve will sit over the ring so you won't even be able to see where you ground on it.

Yeah, i would definately check to make sure the metal ring is ground down and the assembly is sitting where its supposed to on your struts......if i were you i would get it checked out if you still arent sure, that way youre suspension doesnt get messed up and nobody gets hurt
