Hells yeah, my neighbor who also owns a really nice Mustang bought a 240z off some old lady who didnt know what she had just sitting in her garage. It had something like 15k miles on it, but all the belts and hoses and everything were dry rotted, and needed a new tranny. Beautiful car though when he finished it.....i coulda had it for around 5-6 thousand -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

i don't hate on V8's. My dad and i are restoring his 69 Chevelle SS and a 911 Porche. V8's hate on me. There is this guy that has a 90 Iroc-z camaro, i mean the car is nice needs some body work and minor things. If something breaks he just rigs it doesn't really fix it. anyway he always asks me when i'm gonna get the other half of my motor. it makes me mad cause i don't friggin dis his car. NOT tryin to sound bitchy but my car is in WAY better condition than his and all i hear about is how much his is worth. When i got my white wheels he was like, "damn you made that car even more ugly." I told him that i fix up my car to get ppl to like me like he does. I am tryin to be as unique as i can in making my mods. I like being different. So thats how i feel.

there will always be idiots in the world. The trick is knowing how to make them look stupid without them realizing it.

Yeah. Before I got my Celica, I wanted to get a 240z and do the V8 swap. In fact, I'd almost rather do that than get a 3sgte for my Celica. I just need to find an old lady that has one sitting in her garage...with 15k on it. |

exactly but the way i put it is in the end there is no replacement for displacement sure there are a lot of high power stock i4's out there like the new lancer evo 8, 270hp everything in a v8 is bigger and because of that everything is stronger and they can make insane amounts of power. the only time i have a problem with a v8 is when the guy is an asshole and when the asshole owns a chevy truck/suv. all those guys are jerks and they always claim chevy makes the highest quality stuff but yet the tranny is garanteed to die at around 150k, why? because the engines make too much power or is that an excuse for a porr tranny design? i am a rare kind of person, i like all types of cars. i might hate individual cars and companies, but i like the idea of specialized cars. the little 4 banger imports are built for the curves, the highways are left to the camaros and stangs. when ever someone makes fun of my car i really dont care. my friend with a 1998 5.0 sierra would make fun of my car when i first got it and made plans to mod it, he would say that there is no point and that since my TOYOTA had 64k miles it was too old to mod when he was planning to mod his truck with 100k miles because it is pointless to mod a i4 and no matter how old the v8 is it is worth it, and then his intake manifold gasket blew, and his injectors died, and alternator died, and master cylinder failed, fuel pump broke. after that truck cost him about $2500 in repairs he stopped saying a lot of things about my car. and oh yeah, he gets 10mpg as apposed to my 30mpg and guess what, my car is just as fast as his. i respect the v8 potential, i just hate the owners of v8's. all engines are engineering marvels, all should be respected IF AND ONLY IF it is placed in the proper category, ie economy, performance, and work. unlike honda performance engines. they are called performance but if you have almost 2 times the amount of HP as Torque, i would hardly call that performance no matter how much faster the car is than mine. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

V8's sure,
Sweet, strong solid engines with massive power. Just keep the US made SH$T away from me. Most US V8's make about 50 Hp/litre of displacement very unefficient, they also fall apart. If ur gonna get a big V8 or 10 or 12 get it from europe, 4 bangger/ 6? get it from Japan. Japan - compact economy cars Very efficient sleepers decent engines make 100 and up HP/Litre (7g GTS, S2000, 2JZ, GSR, etc.) Europe - Finely tuned, elegant machines making at least 100 HP/L on average (all Porches, ferraris, Mid-High end BMW, etc.) American - Utter **** that falls apart in no time flat, cars made with junk parts and driven by morons. Oh yeah theyre f$%king slow and make about 50 Hp/L. Note to V8 drivers: Dont get in my face and brag about the 300/400 Hp u got cuz 1. with the money I save buying an i 4, I'll top that. 2. Ur car's made from old toasters, and if u try and race me in curves it'll fall apart 3. I know cars enough not to buy Domestics (Ford's, etc.) so while you rant about big muscle cars, I'm laughing at your redneck accent. 4. Any one can squash a gas pedal, but it takes a refined taste to appreciate the engineering of a smaller engine 5. My car weighs a ton (literally) less than yours. 6. Jap/Euro cars look 10^99 times better than US V8's. |

Not all US cars suck and fall apart. True toyotas are for ever, but if you take car of your car it will last you till the day you die. this guy that lived on my block had the same NOVA for over 30 years. and he took great car of it. and i'll say it again big engines don't die. -------------------- |
