I've just added glow gauges to my celi, well pleased with 'em but I've got 2 problems. While I was installing the speedo gauge, I accidently pulled off the entire needle. I've put it back on of course, but now my speedo is reading approx 7 mph faster than what I'm actually going (according to my GPS unit). Also, I drove a fair way last night and my petrol needle hardly moved and now seems stuck. I think I might just have to pull the needle up a a bit, but I'm wondering is it self calibrating, in terms of will it go back to an accurate reading when I sort it out? And what can i do to get the speedo back to an accurate reading (so I don't get caught by one of the 6000 speed cameras in this stupid country!!!)

here it is, how to fix your cluster, snet this while ago to Lagos, and compleatly forgot to add this to a HOW TO.

Well, hope you will understand this how to, cuz it not that simple for me to describe everything in english but if you have good working cluster, so it will be easyer for you to fix your non working one.



1 picture is cluster on witch i marked dead points (marked in red). These dead points are the place there needle floats if relised from the black stick - holder. The tension of the needle spring is requered that speedo worked acuratly. The distance between red point and needle holder (the black stick) is spring tension distance.

First of all, if you need to remove your needles (placing indiglow or etc), relise needles from the holders, and let it float till it stops compleatly (figutre 1.) then it stops, mark the place with some marker, and the remove needle. For a tach its an easy job, cuz it is relativly easy to get the needle over the holder (just bend the holder a bit, and then lift the end of the needle slowly). As for the speedo, its a bit complicated, but still can be done same proces as for the tach to get the needle over the holder, but then you will have to avoid reset knob. Well, bent the reset know as much as you can and at the same time lift needle end cearfuly, and you will avoid it, but do this very very carfully for the first time (after this you will see how much you can bend, and next time it will be easyer). After you jumped over the reset knob, let the needle float, and mark the place again.

after the needles are at the dead points, you can remove them. For removal i use fork, just slide the fort under the needle, and press the end of the fork that the place that is under the needle lifted. Needles will pop easy.

Then puting everything back, the process is the same, put the needles at the dead point (figure 2.), and do everything the same as in the removing process.

In your case, you want to fix your existing cluster... well, if you have good working cluster, you can let the needles float on it, to mark the dead points on the broken one, and then put the broken cluster needles at the dead points and get them in the places, or you can try to look at the picture that i posted, and i marked the dead points in red.

they shold work good after this, atleast the acurancy will be close to stock, i cant guaranty you the same accurancy, but atleast they will be off by a little

Doggy, thats great, thank you very much for your help, I'll let you know how it went. That should def be a how to. Just wondering, what should I do about my petrol gauge for an accurate reading as its now stuck, should I just fill my tank and put the needle to the top d'ya think?

Fantastic, it worked!! I'm about a mile out but I can live with that!! Thanks again for the help Doggy. Once I loosened the needle on the petrol gauge it self calibrated, confirmed by me filling my tank from half and it raising itself all the way to the top!! Please get that made as a how too if possible, it's very useful!!
