Empty your cache and try again. I got the same thing when I did the test then pressed the back button. I have a hard time believing that's accurate unless it's you're connection at work. Otherwise you'd be paying with human sacrifices to afford it.

my connection at work would be faster, but yeah its not real, I just though it was funny as to how easy it is to get a bs reading, the test works by loading a web page with a picture on it, they have the script

get time ()
img src (pic.gif or whatever)
get time ()

then it just takes the time/size of the page etc.

so once you do the test you have the pic, so running it again will give you a very low time (your computer will recognize you have the pic and load it itself rather then BL'ing it, thus you get a very fast time

edit: my actual speed average (after doing severl differant online tests is about 2.1mbps (nothing special but not bad) I have comcast cable.

Wireless doesnt effect your internet speed. Even the slowest wireless opperates at 11mb/s, faster than the fastest internet connections.

I am on a wireless b pci card and got 1920kbps on the cnet test. I've scene 3 gigs on my connection at other times.

I've got adelphia cable, and my friends tell me it's the fastest cable. I really hate Adelphia though. They lie so much in their commercails, and they have hug hidden costs, and it's crappy service, and it costs more than my satilite at home did but I don't get as many channels or an on screen tv guide. I'm to lazy to switch just yet, it's been a busy year in school. I'm switching to the same thing my parents have, Direct TV, and getting satilite internet. Seriously, Direct TV kicks ass. Only thing that sucks is the upload time isn't as good.

As someone else stated, your WiFi network will not be the limiting factor.
