To all those people that have Venom Control Module, how do you like it, and did it make a big difference in performance.
Thanks

control module for what ???

nitrous

if that is what it's for all it does is let you open the nitrous at wide open throttle unlike nos which engages at any RPM.

i heard and read some stuff about how it just changes the throttle positioning sensor so that the ecu thinks the throttle is at WOT a lot earlier than it should, therefore causing the "boost" of power you feel. it would manipulate your expectations b/c you would not be expecting the feeling of WOT at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle.

but, i don't approve or disapprove of this product based on the fact i've never personally delt w/ it, i'm just reporting what i've heard/read. wink.gif

I have it and i love it. Def help my st get up to 115 easy and quickly. And you can def tell the difference. Only problem is that it wastes more gas when used. Also I don't recommend using the things they give you to tap into the ecu, map, tps senors wires. My TPS recently got fried because of the bad wire tapper. Just cut and twist instead of that wire tapper they give you.

No...

Jetchip is a modification added to the stock ECU...

Venom 400 is a standalone unit.

The Venom is a piggy back.

Jet also makes a simmilar piggy back. I was going to ask charlie how hard it is to wire, so if you're reading this dude, how hard is it to wire a afc-venom-jet piggy back?

My supplier get's JET products, So I might be able to get them really cheap. He said they were really hard to wire though...

I can't say which is better. Don't have either (for the price...I can buy a turbo manifold and ghettofab a turbo kit). All I know is, these ECU piggy-back systems and ECU chips are designed to manipulate/adjust the stock ECU and making it (or rather the engine) perform more agressively as opposed to economically.

As far as the spiralmax fin thingy goes, sticking something in your intake pipe causes restriction, which is more harmful than helpful. I've never tried it, but baseing my guess on common sense, I'd say, don't bother. A little stationary fin does not cause air to spin. Air will only spin and increase in flow if energy is exerted. If you're set on trying it out, make one. From the pictures, the design (for me) can be easily duplicated. Either way, if you can get more air to flow through the intake, via a fan or whatever, it's useless unless you can adjust the fuel mixture with it... so a simple fan is only doing what an intake already does...

Thanks foir the info. I guess your right. Also the fin may break off and end up getting sucked into the engine which is not cool at all.

How muich of a difference do you feel? Did you do a dyno of before and after it being installed? What was the price damage?

you can also just adjust your throttle sensor position - not quite as good of a mod but all it cost is the time to undo a few screws and move the sensor around and then test drive it and find which postion you like best - other wise the venom 400 is a good investment

I would say Jet. In the picture it looks as though you can adjust it on the fly.
