Can you be more specific? Sounds like you are asking if you can adjust the distributor to get boost pressure confused.gif
Try giving us a clue on what car, motor, year etc you are referring to wink.gif

I believe he is talking about advancing ignition timing for a few added horses. If this is the case, you would be best off taking it to a good mechanic and asking if it would be safe to advance your ignition timing a few degrees. Most likely they will say yes, provided that you upgrade to mid-high grade gasoline for however long you have your timing advanced. If you stay at low(87) grade, you are gauranteed to get some detonation in the cylinders which is B.A.D. Its not an easy task to do unless you have a timing gun, and actually know what you are doing/looking for.

Best bet, take it to a mechanic and have them do it as high as safely possible. Oh, and fill up with medium (for slight advancing) or high (for lots of advancing) grade gas before you go.

anyone know the stock ignition timing of a 5sfe from a 94 gt. I'm tired of buying high octane fuel.

I thought this was only possible on a 7A-FE, cause the GT and GT-4 ecu's are capable of retarding and advancing timing itself, or am I mistaking?

I believe it was 96 and newer GT's (and probably newer ST's as well) that had no timing adjustment. earlier ones all you need is a timing light and I believe a 12mm wrench.

on 94-95 ST they came with obd1 so you can adjust the distributor by loosing 2 12mm bolts turn clock wise to advance and counter clock to retard make sure you use a timing gun

Stock setting is 10 deg

Don't forget that you need to put a jumper wire in the Diagnostics plug. Someone probably has a pic of which ones on here...

you can only adjust the distributor on the 94-96 model celica's.

i would think the people who own limited editions would love there cars more.. and be posting here.

and there is 3500 each year.. so in actuallity there is alot of limted edition celica's
