Well im not sure but i just had my 19th birthday, and my parents know my celica is going down fast ( tranny, engine, almost everything). Anyways, so my dad brought home a 2002 blue acure RSX with 21k miles on it 5 speed. its pretty nice. And they have been acting weird, asking if i liked it and they asked if my buddy would want it(he's looking for a car), and i said no, then they asked if i would. Now i said yes becuas ei need a new car but i dont knwo if htey are getting it for me or not im not sure.

My problem is i lov emy celica and i dont want to get rid of it, i would be very sad if i have to, i know i cant have 2 cars, but i really need a new car cuz the celicas going down fast, it shakes when stopped, idles off, all kinds o problems. what do yall think? Get the new car or stay with mine?

i would say go with wat you want. everyone here loves the celica so they're gonna try to convice you to stick with it. if you cant handle the problems that it is has then get rid of it before its out for good. thats just my opinion.

Is everybody getting rid of the Celica for the RSX man am I at the wrong site, lol j/k. First question is the Celica paid for and can you get both, build the Celica and use the RSX as a daily driver.

I'm not a pure Celica lover, I'm just a car guy. I say go for the RSX. I'm mainly a speed lover. The RSX is deffinatly a faster and better handling car. I've never been much of a style person. I do think the Celica is one of the best looking cars I've ever seen though. Just do what ever you think feels right, and make sure you do as much research as you can.

after driving a I/E rsx, and racing a I/E/gutted cat RSX type-s, there is no way in hell i would go out and buy a normal rsx.

i have a lot of respect for the type-s(this is from a guy that drives a 245whp WRX)

that being said, honda makes excelent cars. i think the plain RSX is slow, but then again, i also think my WRX is slow, so my opinion is skewed

im sure you will have fun with the rsx, they make a lot of mods for it, its a much newer car, and does have 160hp i think

ya im not sure i wish i could keep both because the celica only cost 3000 and im pretty sure its paid off or about to be very soon. so i woul dbe nice and me and my dad have been talking about turning it into a project car and hes always said " people with aproject car have the money for another they dont drive it" or something along those lines. so i'll see if it will happen.

Ive also drivin the Type-s and i wish i could get one they are nice

likewise i have alot of respect for the Type-S that car is a beast. even though you would probably consider the standard RSX "settling" since it isnt exactly what you want, its still a VERY nice car and i would get rid of my Cobalt in a heartbeat for one... however, if it isnt something you'd really enjoy you gotta let your parents know that so they dont just go throwing money around for something you dont really want.

well i do want it and its not often a nice car like that comes thur his dealership that isnt a new mazda or chevy. But i wol dmiss my celica so much thats why im having 2nd thoughts about it. I know i need anew car and this would be a big up grade and the type-s and normal RSX its that big of a deal to me cuz i can always do stuff to make it fast...im just being weird.

idk... i think im being stubborn i means the deal. I can buy the car for 14k and with about 5000 down payment i can have it payed off in 5 years at 200 a month or 4 years at 350 month. the normal price on this is 18k so its not a bad deal. But i cant see myself selling my celica not becuase of hte work i have put into it, or anything like that cuz it hasnt been that much, but because of you guess i love this site and all of you and if i sell my celica i can't really be apart of it. i cant go to celica meets or toyota meets. i dont know i think its hard because i have had this car for 3 years and i have been thur alot with it, it was the first car i ever owned and im a very no change is a good change kinda person. What do yall think am i being stuipd about this? i dont think i will ever get a 3s or engine swap it would only be a all show- no go on the celica but with the rsx i get both but more people have them. its so hard

Its a tough choice man, deciding whether to part your ways with your first car which has alot of sentimental value for a newer and dare I say a better car. The celica hands down looks georgous while I think the rsx looks a bit unproportioned. From the problems you briefly mentioned in your first post it looks like you need a new IAC.

The rsx has alot going for it. It has 21k miles on it and is 3 years old. It would probably have less potential things to go wrong. Granted you'd not be as unique, but it has a dizzying aftermarket support. Drive the rsx more and see which one you enjoy driving more and go with the one you like the most. How many miles are on your celi?

141k, ya the RSX isnt as unigure but is somewhat more then civic things like that. its alot like a supra more often btu close. Plus it does have a huge parts selection which is nice and i can make it mine own with all that. im going to be taking to school and make my choice on friday.
