Ok, I've been looking for some paint to use on my tails. The only hobby shop I could have ordered through was closed down by the Gov. Wall Mart has Testors Black Pearl. Now. I'm thinking two things: 1. this is just gloss black paint, or 2. this is a pearl like a colored overcoat. Can it be used on my tails and still have the tails turn amber at night? I'm thinking about taking my tails apart and using new lenses. hmm, this breeds an Idea.
Let me know what you think. Jon |

Thats wierd.......I was just thinking about doing something to my tails today. My thoughts are that the JDM tails arent a hell of a lot different, so maybe i can try and make my stocks look more like JDMs by redding them out, and using some black paint on the edges of the different lenses or something, to make them look a little different from everyone elses.......just some ideas

Gloss black Krylon worked good for me. I completely blacked out the reflective area on the side of my rear coupe tails. I also blacked out my front signals, but I think I could of gone a couple cotes lighter on them because they are a little hard to see in the day. They are a lot easier to see at night. Looks good on my black car though. Still not sure about the tails. I can't stick with a design. I keep repainting them. But ya thats my experience with spraypaint and lights.

Yeah, I know the two are set up different......but my idea was to try and do something with the side lenses or the reverse lights and then highlight other lenses with black after redding them out so that they resemble them a little bit. Might not look too great though, but it was an idea. But to answer the original question, Testors makes a transparent black tint spray paint that should work great right on the lens. You can order it online if there arent any hobby shops near you. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

Ding Ding Ding You are correct. Thats exzactly what I used on my tails. Just make sure that you put a clear coat over it so that they don't start to flake off like mine did the first time. If your wanting a pic of how they turned out here is one ![]() Bryan |
