So I won an AFC2 auction and the guy wanted to do a wire transfer to malayasia. So I did, and he said he shipped it out. Then today this emai lfrom ebay:

Did you check out his feedback? If he had negative, did he respond positively or he "gave an attitude"? That is how I spot bad people on eBay. I have NEVER been screwed on eBay...because of the feedback. Sorry you were had, brother. For the next time, if it's a Western Union or Money Gram transfer outside the U.S., it is a scam. I got scammed for $400 from a guy in Italy for a Novation Supernova II...which sells for over $1,000...in a SonicState.com music instruments classified. He was such a nice guy and we chatted by e-mail for a while until I sent him the trasfer. Never heard from him and 2 days later I read on the SonicState.com classifieds that he was a scammer. I had the chance to get suspicious when he said he needed me to contact MoneyGram and change a letter in his name because they wouldn't give him the money and they were looking at him like he was a criminal. I wish that would've woken up a paranoia in me but it didn't. Oh well! I reported it to the FBI complaint center but I knew they weren't going to do anything.

The only time I've ever had trouble off of ebay is when I bought something from a foriegn company. I bought this alarm from a place in taiwan or china and they "didn't have it in stock" I eventually got it though it took like 3 months.

File a safe harbour complaint I think you can still get your money back that way.

I got taken on Tein springs when I had my Celi. Guy had like an 900 score too, very little negative. Just never replied to my emails and I guess I let it go too long for Paypal todo anything about it. Kindof sucks - but I learned from it. The guy also deleted both accounts roughly after a month. DAMN.

The paypal buyer protection is kinda a scam by the way. I tried to get my money back from them, and after wasting too many hours filling things out and answering questions and the like, and waiting like a month, I got the reply (paraphrased slightly) from paypal: "You are right. He owes you money. So, as soon as he leaves money in his account, we will give it to you." Like the scammer ever leaves a balance just sitting in his paypal account. He would have to be stupd to do that. And paypal won't take it out of his bank account or credit card that they have on file because thats a "privacy breach" or something like that.

Credit card companies will ususally help. If you paid with Credit card, they can get your money back. The paypal buyer protection is bull. Read the fine print.

never wire money to someone like that. do it through paypal or the marketplace checkout. that is just asking for it.
