Despite several days of almost continuous rain, decided to go down to the Champion Dragway at Meremere anyway this morning. Man, was that start line like ice or what?
![]() ![]() ![]() Not very good conditions for good times - especially with the car as is - ie, spare wheel/jack in boot, road tyres, etc.... Still, everyone was in the same boat ![]() 14.480 isn't anything to shout about, but given the conditions and as it was the 4's first trip to the strip, can't complain ![]() ![]() And yes, before someone points it out - I was asleep at the start ![]() Gary -------------------- ![]() 1994 ST205 Celica GT-FOUR Group A WRC - running in new engine 1993 Rover 220 GTi tarmac rally car (under construction) 3SGE power here we come.... its great to see what a real gt4 would run. i hope next time u can take it out on a dry day. its cool to know that a swaped 6th gen is about the same performace as a gt4.

Hahahaha. No way. The track was a greasy as hell out there yesterday - FWD cars were struggling big time. Most of the high power ones (and the RWD cars too) were posting 16 - 18 second times. There is no way on earth that a FWD turbo'd Celica would have posted a mid 14 sec run in those conditions - I can assure you ![]() Fully expect to be sub 14 sec in the dry - maybe even mid to low 13s once I have completed the planned mods ![]() Gary -------------------- ![]() 1994 ST205 Celica GT-FOUR Group A WRC - running in new engine 1993 Rover 220 GTi tarmac rally car (under construction) 3SGE power here we come.... Timing starts only when the car actually moves. I managed a 0.344 on a couple of runs. i'd say thats a pretty good run, especially considering the conditions, and the reaction timing. Man, cant wait till i get my 3sgte all finished =/.

Upgrades (comming soon)- 3sgte engine swap - small engine tweaks here and there - new paintjob (black w/ overlay of blue pearl) possible future upgrades- gt4 hood/bumper - upgrade the 3sgte turbo. |

Very little done performance enhancing wise to date. Just a 2.5" exhaust decatted, TRD panel filter and a Profec B Spec II running around 16psi.
Need to sort out a decent pod filter, 3" exhaust for starters. Then I can look at those forged pistons, lightweight flywheel and clutch, Apexi ECU and 23psi ![]() Gary -------------------- ![]() 1994 ST205 Celica GT-FOUR Group A WRC - running in new engine 1993 Rover 220 GTi tarmac rally car (under construction) 3SGE power here we come.... 2.2 60ft is what is making the biggest difference. Go back to the track on a good day and pull some 1.8 60ft's and your looking at low 14's maybe high 13's.
