i'm going for a roof scoop guy's
the style like on a 5th gen hood but then again i'm thinking of going for the rally look at the moment....... and as for why, if you driving your car on the track you don't want the extra drain on the motor with A/C pumping........ and them i can match my roof with my hood -------------------- Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |

Maybe ? David |

the old Mr2 had one didnt it, but wasnt it for the air intake?
That would be cool, mount one, then run some piping for the air intake. Might not work to good but it would be different. Well update us with some pics so we can see it finished. |

the roof scoop is there for rally drivers to keep cool since they have taken the AC system out of the car to save weight. They do pay a penalty in drag, but they are either not at speeds where it would make too much of a difference or they decide that their comfort is worth the extra drag.
for us, its just for looks. i think that anything that doesnt serve an actual purpose on your car (i.e. make it go fast or stop fast) is rice. That being said, we are all guilty of a bit of rice here and there. The one on perry190's car looks pretty good. Is it functional? and if so is there a way you close it up during rain? Any tricks to making them not loud? I prefer outside air to AC, but if it destroys my acoustics... meh.
