Kicker 12" Comp VR?



Im trying 2 get rid of my supra and this guys offering me some audio equipment and he said he can gimme one of these used for like a month in his low rider truck, a good head unit, and big amp. So i dunno any thing about kicker except they are good quality. This a good sub??

also any one used this deck??

Sony CDX-C4750...apparently $270 USD :S he says he will give me the deck, 2 of the kickers and is still gettin an amp..

Sony head units are garbage...at least from my personal experience. And if you search on a car audio website, no-one likes Sony.

I hear those are good subs though.

meh..me like sony head units..ive had 2..only reason i had 2 was cuz i sold the first one and got a second one..good thing about workin at canadian tire(like pep boys). Got both for $70..brand new..old stock that was discontinued.

Sony stuff is very overrated. The subs are decent though. They are loud, not clean though just really loud.

Sony amps are a joke.

Ive heard very good things about kicker subs...and it doesnt have to be the L7. Second only to JL in my book. I think the comp vrs are a really good bang for your buck sub.

those old comp vrs are nice. do pump loud, and sq isnt too bad.

Sony head units are ok.
There speakers, woofers and amps are a different story.

ive used my sony amp for 6 months, no problems yet, powers my JL sub nicely.

so this is the guys offer...the 2 Kicker Comp Vr 12" subwoofers, that sony cd deck, and a Pheonix Gold 180.2 amp..i got reviews on the subs and deck..but nothing on the amp yet..any one know about it?

ive heard positive things about phoenix stuff. plus i googled the reviews and 99% were good too.

what price are u getting them for?

i was gonna trade my beat up/sh*tbox/parts car 87 supra..it barely runs, needs alot of body work/parts replaced..needs a new motor and trans, paint, gas lines..pretty much only thing that was in good condition was my interior and the exhaust system(cuz i put a new one on). My dad's name is on the ownership(cheaper insurance for me) and i told him about the trade and he said no and wont sign it over. So first person to gimme $600 CND for it gets it

thats a misjudgement, sony car audio products are over rated. As far as home stereo, gaming systems, portable cd players, walkmans, ect. are concerned, they are all very excellent.

Since we are in a CAR FORUM, talking about CAR AUDIO...most people would think I'd only be referring to Sony's car audio stuff. But maybe not. Yes, Sony as a brand isn't crap just their car audio products.

This is why I left these forums for so long, why did I even bother coming back to try and help out with some input again. Everytime you say something, someone has to come over the top and try to impress people. It's rediculous.

The sony deck is OK. I used to have a sony deck and loved it. I didn't know anything about car audio back then, though.

The subs are OK. Get decently loud, SQ is bearable (as said before).

PG amps, especially the old ones, have been known to be decent. That amp will suit your system well.

All in all, the components are OK. The PG amp is the best of the set.
