He he he...neutral dropping ins't good and the Celica's have some kind of weird control over it...trust me I've tried. When you do it...you get the RPMs high and drop it into neutral...well the dumb computer kicks on and automatically pushes the revs to like 3g...which doesn't do much for burnouts and it makes you look dumb...I know from experience!...now...
I do mad burnouts with my auto Celica...might not be good for tranny but hwat I do is go in reverse....whether it's out of the parking spot at school or just doing one for my friends...and back up about 10 feet...dont brake...whle im still going backwards...slam it into drive, slam on the gas, say bye bye to expensive tires and hello "you-need-a-new-tranny" lol. Oh well, it's got 110k on it and I'm switching to manual this summer...why not burn the tranny out and look good doing it? People think I'm running 300 HP to be able to do the burnouts I do. Next weekend I'll post a movie of it on my website and a link in this thread so you guys can see mad destruction of my car. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT

I don't have a vid of my car doing it...but I will this summer since my bro got a digital cam that takes like 4 minutes video's, but not until I have my new tires, my 95 GT 5 speed will spin the tires without a problem.

That's what I've been wondering. My 95 ST can make Kumho Ecstas(712, W rated) squeak in 3rd, and roast in 1st. When I had cheaper tires I could grab 3rd easily. Even with the old Potenzas(730) I had, 1st gear burns came fairly easily.

you guys should all be able to do burnouts, my car burns them pretty damn hard going into second and third. i could make them squeal going into 2nd back when i had the 5sfe in to. and once when i had the 5sfe i was at the track (pretty slick there) and i chripped um into 3rd.
but as far as burn outs i could do some nice smoke shows with my 5sfe, and with the 3sgte i can do them on accident. |

Yeah, well I guess you couldn't really consider what I do a burnout.....I sit there for a couple seconds...but not like some of the ill burnouts you can do with muscle cars. I still smoke them though and leave marks...not like smokle where u can't see the car anymore (argh that would be frickin sick if i could though!) but it's cool looking I think. Definitely makes my car look like it's runnin way more than stock hp...even tho it's not. I will still take a vid of it and post it soon...just so you can see someone totally abusing their Celi...lol.
BTW, don't do what I do unless you're planning on investing money into a new tranny soon. PLEASE don;t! I don't wanna see a Celi get hurt unless it's gonna be fixed soon anyways! This post has been edited by snadman: May 21, 2003 - 10:27 PM -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT

Ja! Camaro's have the rear end slightly pitched so that you will do crazy burn outs...and just sit there while ya do em ...as for my Celi doin burnouts...my tires grab to damn well, and my clutch hits to hard...I snap an axle clean |
