Just getting ready to have a nice cuban in a couple days with my girlfriends uncle and friends, and i want to have good cigar etiquette. So can anybody give me good advise other than "light it up with a zippo"
thanks everybody (AND PLEASE do not post one post about cigars being bad for you, everybody has their bad habits) -------------------- The most important lesson I learned from Karate-Dô Kyôshan – “You can not be what you do not believe you are” |

Dupont lighter but it really wouldn't make a diffrence on your etiquette. You could use matches & still look nice as seen on movies LOL Just be your self caring about what others think will make you more retared time to time, just enjoy the time being I think that's the best etiqutte there is This post has been edited by Project95St202: Nov 9, 2005 - 12:42 AM |

actually ur supposed to use the peice of thin wood/paper thats in the canister. u take the cigar out, and inside the canister is the paper, like lining....cut off the end of the cigar, light the paper, use the paper to light the cigar

i love a good cigar every now and then.
1 - always light a cigar with a WOOD match. never use anything with fluid because it will kill the flavor of the cigar. 2 - cut the tip of the cigar with a cigar cutter...never with a knife or with your mouth. 3 - never knaw or chew on a cigar...its a grose habbit and it will ruin the cigar. 4 - Do not hold a cigar between your index and middle finger like a cigarette, instead hold it between your index finger and thumb. 5 - Never ash a cigar. let the ash fall off by itself. most importantly, you have to look gangsta while smoking a cigar. thats what its all about, |

you can light it with a butane torch, many cigars stores sell torches for this. They leave no bad flavor at all.

Also, not that this has to do with etiquette but I like to dip the tip of a cigar in brandy for some flavor, very nice.
Haven't smoked a pipe yet, but the shop in town just got a ton of them in...maybe this weekend -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

The smell is wonderful, once you have one cigar (an enjoyable one of course), you'll smell somebody else's and not have the craving for one, but just want to stand there and smell the flavor. You don't really enhale them, you draw very lightly, then roll the drawn smoke with your toung to the back of your mouth. It's enjoyable. Hope that helps celica fan
Blue94GT, i havn't tried the brandy thing, can you elaborate on that a little more? Thanks -------------------- The most important lesson I learned from Karate-Dô Kyôshan – “You can not be what you do not believe you are” |
