that looks sick. But yea, deffinatly needa improve the sounds. It would be wicked if they have actual Rally car sounding exhaust on rally cars. The last one was good, but it sucked cuz like a 68 Chevelle sounds the same as a honda prelude.

about sound from gt4:
"I was talking with a reviewer this week about the amazing music of GT4, when an innocent bystander stopped by and immediately commented that the engine sounds in GT4 sound nothing like the actual vehicles. I asked him to prove it…”What’s an Aston Martin sound like when you rev it to 60?” He didn’t have a reply. You’ll love what GT4 brings to the table in terms of sound. I think that if you’re that detailed that you need to have the engines sound exactly like the actual cars in real life, you have a sad life. I don’t want to recognize a 99’ Civic, I want to hear the thing become loud and soft at times that I need it to. In other words, it sounded fine to me. Each car has a different hum to its motor and enough variety where you won’t be stuck on a minor detail like this. Such a minor detail. "

While we're butchering car sounds, why not just have a box to represent the car? Hell it doesn't matter if it's also visually unrecognisable as a 99' Civic, it still corners and accelerates...

they probably wont get it b/c the license to obtain the cars is too much money. The only racing games i know with ferraris in them are owned by EA Sports.

i think the whole point of grand turismo is to race normal cars that people own. adding high end super cars would kind of take away from the games charm.

the video looks cool, but it looks way too much like gt4. they probably want to reuse a lot of the old tech so that they can get the game out asap. hopefully it will keep getting better and better by the time it comes out.

if you want a game with good car sounds, check out forza for xbox. all the cars sound like they should in that game. i think gt4 used the same sound becasuse the ps2 only has 32megs of ram to work with .

I was just thinkin about the sound on that game yesterday. I was playing using my Corvette Grand Sport and it's just really bugging me that it sounds like it's running off of a shop vac instead of a throaty v8. You'd think that they would try to be more on with the sounds since the rest of the game is so realistic. I think if GT5 doesn't have better sound quality that I'm going to get an XBOX 360 and Forza 2 and Project Gotham 3. They have sports cars like Ferraris and stuff plus good sound, graphics, and DAMAGE. Plus the new Project Gotham has in-car views with mirrors and all like the old Need For Speeds used to do which is a huge plus IMO.

im pretty sure that they will add all that stuff in the next gen of ps3 . you have to remember that the ps2 is a 333mhz computer with only 32megs of ram, so there is a not a lot of stuff they can do with that. while the xbox is around 700mhz with 64 megs.

ok first of all Gt4 is a good game no ones bashing it, and i dont have a sad life it just happens that i dont want a dodge charger sounding like hoover, im mean look at the nfs underground/most wanted series, great sounds from the car.what im saying is hopefully the ppl who make the game will use the power of the ps3 to fix some of the problems encluding sound. sure its a minor deatail but who wouldnt like to stop and hear a db9 rev? or a 69 camaro roar? I dont need the opinion of reviewers to know if the sound is good, trust me i know how cars sound and gt4 doesn not have it right......

the reason why there is no damage coz manufacturers don't want their cars to get damaged on games

forza for xbox has damage. so does project gotham 1 and 2.

adding in damage, means you have to add more models of how the car looks after a crash. that means more memory that the system has to use. its pretty amazing what they have been able to do with just 32megs on the ps2, but the extra damage models and new sound effects for every car, just dont fit that small memory space.
