This question is about the throttle cable switching from the 7a to the smallport 4A-ge that i just picked up
the throttle from the 7a is on the opposite side of the 4a so i was just wondering how you get the cable to the other side. Thanks and if you can post pictures of your 4a that would be helpfull. o and will the power stearing pump from my st bolt up to the 4a? Thanks This post has been edited by 94STcoupeKyle: Feb 2, 2006 - 7:49 PM -------------------- ![]() |

Your powersteering pump won't work without some custom brackets. The 4AGE mounts the powersteering pump on the exhauts side, the 7AFE mounts it on the intake side. The 4AGE mounts the alternator on the intake side... the 7AFE on the exhaust side. You cannot swap over the 7A's pumps because the 7A mounting points are different from the 4AG. As for the throttle cable... the stock one might be too short. You can source a longer throttle cable from an early 90's Tercel, which should bolt-in and be long enough.

QUOTE(94STcoupeKyle @ Feb 3, 2006 - 9:44 PM) Will the wiring harness work with the new 4a-ge? Not directly. You cannot run the 7A ecu without modifying it (look up posts by a member named toyotaspeed_90)... and the ingition systems between the 7A and 4AGE are vastly different. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... well im just gonna get a new ECU for it, so like the plug ins will work the same, like plugging in the alternator and the injectors and stuff?
will the 7a wiring go with the 4a ECU? -------------------- ![]() |

ECU plugs will most likely be different. ECU pins will be different, meaning just about every wire will be different... meaning an entire wiring job. THERE IS NO SHORTCUT. If you're serious about getting this done... get the wiring stuff I linked to you and have it done by someone who knows what they're doing. If not... expect yourself to be dissecting wires for a long while. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
