what tire presure should i have, and should it be less in winter ?

I run 34PSI all year round unless it snows in which case I run 30PSI.

MY translated handbook recommends a tyre pressure of 35psi allround for the standard tyre size (215x50_16), so thats what i put in to the 225x45_16's i'm running.

Check the link below for tyre pressure conversion...

It also depends on the type of tire. If anyone is like me, i dont have all 4 same wheels, and there all dif. but i average them all out about 40psi

I think if you've got a 2wd Celica you can do this, but i have a GT4 and have to have the same tyre size and pressure as the wheels are all in sinc....

Working at Discount, normally set them at an average of 32-35 psi. Just look on the inside of the door and itll give you recommended PSI.

I agree with BLINKYxMUNKEY. Also, if you check your max tire pressure on the tire itself, just go about 3 psi less, and you will be in good shape.

that is the best set up.....

i'm running a different profile front to back right now due to having to get two new tires and not being able to get 50's so i got 55's......... and at $200 a tire i wasn't about to get four at once <:( (money don't come cheap)

i'll replace the old tires soon aswell, i'm not sure what the long term effect will be from running two different prifiles....... apart from an unbalanced car....... ??????

If you overinflate the tire it will wear the middle of the tire down. If you underinflate it will wear the outside of the tire.

make sure you check the pressure COLD, meaning leaving the car undriven for a couple hours to let it cool, pressure in your tires increase as you drive it, so if u want 35 psi, make sure you do it cold

On the tire, it says the max pressure, which is problably around 60 lbs of air. The recommended tire pressure is on a sticker inside the door.

READ THE SIDE OF THE TIRE

This is the maximum pressure the tyre can handle, not the optimal!!
I read somewhere that a good pressure is ~10% less than that value.
