when the green light shows we both start racing u can see a lil difference when he on first shift start passing my car slowly when i changed to 2nd shift the guy PSSSSSS on 2nd shift he won the race he was like 7-10 cars away from me, im so desapointed lol i knew he was gonna win but not that fast :S i realize my car goes to 100 MPH normaly a lil fast when i'm racing but DEFINATELY too SLOW after 100 MPH UP i'm planning to do an swap got $1790.00 cash. where i can find a good 3sgte to buy it, is a 2nd gen 3sgte good for a celica GT year 99 or definately a 3rd gen 3sgte for it ? where can i find it please >? i see ebay hardly sell those only 2nd gen ones. any advise

cars who actually beat my celica, some of them are:
new civic 2006 manual tranny
accords manual tranny
mustangs v6 & up manual tranny
maxima 2000 & up manual n auto tranny
rx7s
and some more.

I cant believe that SRT4 beat you, who would have thought a 240hp 3000lb car would rape the crap outta you?

Edit: I gotta laugh at the cars that "actually beat my celica." I giggle @ you. Why are you racing cars that are absolutely positively out of your range? Start with Geo Metro's and Ford Festiva's and perhaps it'll boost your confidence.

dont trust me huh ? i wish i could take a video of the race but two hands were busy one on the steering wheel the other one on the shifter:( but yea too much power on the srt-4 and the guy just bought the car no add-ons on it.

What do you mean dont trust you? You didnt say anything outrageous. I believe you lost, and my first comment was sarcastic (thought I layed it on pretty thick.)

What would you put on the forum: Hey guys check out how badly I lost to a car thats stupidly out of my league!

Wow, I can't believe you guys. What has this site come too? Everyone is acting like a bunch of jerks. Are we getting that high in numbers that we're going to start acting like the Honda guys? For the record, I love Hondas, just not their forums. It disgusts me. It's been all over, but this thread is one of the worst.

well actually let me tell some guys here that with 1700 you can put a 3sgte in that celica GT (notice the gt)
engine ,...........can be found for 1200 in my area
harness conversion,..............300 tweak style
forget powersteering and ac, i can live withought them i believe anyone can
get a used starion intercooler and buy piping and bam your done

Yeah its that easy too.

and thats also the exact sound your $1,200 3sgte motor makes when you run it for a few thousand miles...

lol, to be honest keep with cars like tegs, civics, crx's... nothing like a srt-4, 350z, v6 stang (and up), and some other higher hp cars cuz u'll just get blown away. im not saying u'll win against the tegs, civics or crx's but it'll be alot closer ... i mean u might as well put ur car in reverse against the higher class.

Haha....This thread made me laugh. Theres definately a sharp difference in responses between those who 'have' and 'have not' when a topic like this comes up.

BTW, just for reference a clip costs about $1700-2000+ so unless you cut corners or get an amazing deal or don't plan on using a good motor, you shouldn't count on having a good swap for that little money.

hahahaha i know alot about swaps and uhm forget the clip f-it if anyone is round the MD area hit me up and ill show yall a real 3sgte swap!!! but it isnt a celica and he will hit 10 secs soon and the swap cost him around 2 grand and well let me tell you guys he has a haltec ecu system

People come to this website because supposedly everyone here is nice and supportive.. and not like the assh-les on other forums that turn almost every thread into a flame thread. Obviously.. we're proving them wrong.

Just because some of us don't know as much as those who have done swaps, and whatever else.. doesn't make you better than anyone else on this site. It used to feel like a family here.. now it is turned into almost every other car forum.

Flame me if you must.. it's just my input.

I'm backing you up 100%. Some of the flamers are just doing it to try and look like they know what they're talking about. I think it's time to bring back some first posts of people. Everyone, please remember were you were at at 16 years of age with your first car.

i dont think a v6 stang is all that out of a gt's league my friend has one and when we first got our licenses we use to race all the time and i would get him off the start and he wouldnt pass me again until around 70 or 80 his car is auto but on a 1/8 mile track that would be a real close finnish

now anymore i dont feel good posting something here, just 2 -3 guys supporting out of the crowd

Dont let other people's attitudes discourage you. Most of the members here are not fans of street racing. If you looking to do an engine swap I would recommend you research. Take a few months read everything you can, save up some money. By the time you have 4 to 5 grand saved up, you'll be ready to do the swap with money to spare.

we're telling you the truth kidd, if you guys havn't figured it out yet, celicas are slow unless major modding and major money $$ was spent on it, the guys above me are right, stop racing cars out of your league before you blow up your motor or mess something up
