ok guys im looking at an mr2 the engine is fulyl rebuilt by the famous chris k...has 150miles on the engine...new head valves gasket everything... .4 mm overbore with wiseco pistons...now the turbo on this car is a greddy td06 57trim how big is that in comparison to say ct27 by ats or the gt250r?? he says it spools at 4400rpm but kicks the **** out of u...the car has supra 550cc injectors and twin turbo fuel pump along with dual feed ats customized rail...it is not tuned and he has an safc...he claims it will tune it good enough..is a standalone required for this size setup?? by the way hks sidemount intercooler arp headstuds, its a nice build i just dont trust the electronics being run by safc

anyone thats running a chrisk motor, with a TD06, and tuning with a safc should be shot.

quick edit,
i dont think HKS makes a side mount for the mr2, IIRC, greddy and spearco are the 2 big hitters, and now the berk tech one..

57 trim is going to be bigger then the TD06-20G L2, so it might be the T67 turbo (aka 25G). Thats good for over 500 HP and spools in the mid 4000 rpms. It also sounds like a Frankenstein 57 Turbo, though its not a Greddy ( TD06 Housing , Garret 57 Trim wheel) which pushes 750 CFM / 550+ HP.

No way 550 injectors would be large enough for that much power, you'lll need to buy bigger.

To run this motor to its full potential, you'll need a standalone, not to mention supporting modifications. You could run the turbo / motor at stock levels using the factory ecu and afm, but then you might as well buy a stock motor. The real question is what are you looking to do?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

how much does he want for the car? why is he selling it? the safc, should not be your main concern about the car. i have a feeling there is something bigger going on.

for those who dont know. ChrisK, is basically the GOD of the 3sgte. hes the guy you call when u want a high power moster of a motor and you have lots of cash to spend. you dont just buy one of his motors, only to get rid of it after 140miles.
