Hi guys,

Those who completed the swap, did u guys stick to the stock GT brakes or did u guys upgrades the pads and rotors?

How many brake horse power can the stock GT handle.

Thanx

Time will tell that it is a mistake to replace the F-14 Tomcat with the F-18 Super Hornet as the carriers first line of defense.

1.5 years on stock GT brakes. No problems and haven't really seen the need for better ones.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

JDM brakes, which are the drum for parking and disc for breaking on the rear and discs front are excelent!
A shed load better than the ones on my freinds 90' RX7 turboII, and they have to put up with stopping 300bhp, it just doesn't stop in time!

why bother with any fancy drilled disks ect spend your money on cold beer and fast women!

if you have a GT with disk brakes all around, you should be just fine.

I'm swapping to GT4 brakes. When you increase the power of you car you should always increase the stopping power as well IMHO. Not that i have many complaints on the Stock (EU/JDM) brakes with stock pads.

In trackdays the stock brakes are too weak.
Now i have discks from BlackDiamond and pads from Ferodo. Even after 10 laps on a 2,5mile track the brakes was good, the TOYO R881 tires was not laugh.gif
