Anybody know of a good place to shop for or research limited slip differentials (LSD) for the S54 M/T on the 94 and up Celica's? I already know Kaaz, Cusco, Quaiffe, and TRD make 1.5 way and 2 way LSD's for it but I was specifically looking for a helical 1 way for under $1K?

The Quaife is a helical. The TRD is made by Quaife if I recall correctly.

It's a helical. It's an automatic torque biasing differential, no "1-way" "2-way" "1.5 way" stuff.
Though you could think of it as a 1-way. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

I did a little digging in to this ths Quaife ATB and to me it almost sounds like it functions similar to a 1.5 way. The tech description I read mentioned that it is engaged under most circumstances. I was under the impression that FWD vehicles do not benefit from the LSD being engaged under deceleration because of torque steer issues. What is an automatic torque biasing differential? And how is it better or worse than a straight up clutch type 1 way (other than the maintainance issue)? Feel free to be as technical as you wish.
