Longer shifters place your hand closer to the shifter when it's on the steering wheel, for faster shifts and faster return to the steering wheel after shifts.

But make the throw much longer....if you look on rally cars...they have long shifters about 12" long, but the top only moves about 2" for any gear. ST205`s had seriously long shifters...get rid and buy a shorter after market one....makes changing gear much better and faster due to the shorter throw which far outwieghs the extra 2-3" your hand has to travel to reach the gear stick in the first place. |
