QUOTE(Hawkins Corp @ Apr 9, 2006 - 11:00 PM) Will the rear axels fit right up to a st from a gt, with the disk brakes? Not sure exactly waht you mean, but if you are asking if the GT rear disks fit on the ST rears with no problem, then yes. Just need the backing plate, calipers, rotors, parking brake internals, and pads. |

these should give you the idea of how it works basically you have in the 2nd picture a cast iron knuckle that the brake/wheel assembly gets bolted onto (this is stationary non rotating) its connected to "arms" to hold it into place as well as the strut/spring on the vertical axis... in the last picture you see the back side of the hub...this is what the wheel studs and bearing assembly, and spindle are housed on...this bolts to the knuck via 4 bolts... (same GT and ST) in the first picture you can see the hub/drum brake/strut all mounted up onto the knuckle and car... the assembly in picture 2 is wat allows the rear wheels to rotate on the knuckle....since we are FWD we have no need for axels as the rears "free spin" |
