You have to cut off the 6gc bracket and weld it onto the 7gc seat. Def not a bolt in job. And no, you can't drill and tap holes in the 6gc for the 7gc seats. They won't be strong enough in a wreck. A few people have 7gc seats. Shoot them a PM.

you have to cut off the stock 7gc bracket and weld on the 6gc bracket, or at least thats what i remember my brother doing. those 7gc seats are great, very comfy and hold well

well you dont really have to cut and weld that is what most people say! but i have install some 7th celica gts seats in my celica st and all i did was redrill all new 3 holes and bought new nuts to tigthen everything up. The seats are really stablize, But to just say its depends on how u do it! just my 2cent pointer

^agreed. that doesnt sound too safe. anyway, the way Punch(david) did mine was by cutting and re-welding the 7gc seat mounts (not the brackets that slide the seat back and forth, just the tips with the holes). i'll take pics soon and post them here.

there harder then they look to fit in, and take some tweeking, mine still need some work, there angled out a bit and a little to close to the door, but look great and are very comfortable, I'll get pics later.
as far as install, you have to exstend some bult holes, and twist others like it shows in Punch'es pics. This post has been edited by creis: Jul 31, 2006 - 2:39 PM -------------------- ![]() |
