80-90whp over stock is close to the limit of the 7afte the rods are pretty thin

It all depends on how accurate your Tuning is, and how acurated A/F and ignition is.. Another thing - is your engine condition...

My old 7AFTE setup ran 220 hp and 279nm of Tq. This is almost 100hp over the stock.

And all this was on stock internals stock head gasket and etc...

I think 12 psi is a limit with the stock internals in a long run, and still you have to tune up all the way to make your engine handle this.

thanks guys for the info. by the way does anybody has a picture of the connecting rods and pistons of a 7afte? can you pls. post it. Im not sure if my internals are stock, since the rod looks thick and the piston has coating already.

Well, the rod looks way beefier and thicker than the piston, but it's still a pretty thin rod if you compare it to the stouter ones of other engines. Anyway, I've been running 12 PSI on mine since 2003 and so far, so good. I only rebuilt it because I broke a piston...some little problem with the injectors...no biggie. I beat the hell out of it when I drive it and it takes it like a champ...just a sloppy S-AFC tune. Never dynoed, widebanded, etc. I can't wait to break it, so I can stuff it with the forged goodies and the EMS I got under my bed. tongue.gif

When I opened my 7A to replace the internals, man...I was surprised at how fragile the stock pistons were. They looked so brittle, you know. Rods look much stronger than them, even though they're puny! tongue.gif

... The newer rod with no pistons is from a performance engine. the 7afe unit is oil baked in that picture.

When My friend ws tapping the pistons out, one fell into my hands as I sat below the engine stand.... the first thing I said when it hit my hands was "it's a GIRL!"... tiny piston and rod...
