ok so i was trying to solve the issue of my car shimmieing, and i came across a little surprise.
looks alot like oil....but i really cant tell from the smell cuz it has alot of road dirt mixed in with it. (just smells like dirt) I also really cant see where its driping from, but the last picture is the brace that goes under the motor, and its seams to be driping off of that so my guess is it is from the motor. (good guess eh?) but its also near the passenger side wheel well, its on the under body plastic at the front of the car, way away from the engine brace....idk kinda scared. Can get more pics if neeeded. This post has been edited by devilsden97: May 4, 2006 - 1:12 PM -------------------- Kawi Love |

looks like oil to me, check your oil drain bolt, and oil level, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket ect..,...all that stuff is pretty common to leak as the car gets older and the gaskets harden up.

I need to drive it in about a half hour or so.....think things will be ok? edit: i checked the oil level (even though it was way hot) and it was really low (im completly disreguarding this) but i did spray down the undercarage with a hose to get rid of the gunk, and to see if it starts to leak again. And where it shows up first. Ill check the car again in the morning or at night to see the oil lvl when its cool and been sitting for more then an hour. QUOTE(playr158 @ May 4, 2006 - 3:15 PM) money is on tranny seals my money is on the valve cover gasket, mine leaked and was in all the exact same places that his oil is. also, why would his engine oil level be low if it was the tranny seals? and i hope that your tranny fluid isn't black lol time to go now, cowboy bebop just started on Adult Swim -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

looks like mine did when my CV boots perished. have you checked there are no cracks in the boots? might be grease being splattered around.. |

tranny seals cost 7$ each i do believe...
and its black well if you think it drips down onto the support brace, road grime, dirt sand and crap catch onto it and make a big grease build up....at least thats wat happened to my celica... there are about a hundred different leaks that could make it happen... |
