well i was on campus to return a tag frame to my soror (im in a frat and she's in our sister sorority zeta phi beta) i had her tag frame for the longest and i called her to find out where her car was. i go to place the tag on, u know unscrew and rescrew simple. i get in my car, and by the time i get out of the lot, i hear someone shout PULL OVER DAMMIT! to my amazement, there was a cop holding onto my car! he spoke aggressively and said i got yer plate # so dont get cute. i pull over (in the middle of the street he didnt want me to move.) next he asks me where's your little buddy at? u guys were seen stealing plates. OH MY GOD! i was pissed off! i explained to him what i was doing and that whoever called the cops on me was misinformed or partially blind aint that something? they let me go and dont even apologize...what an arseface....
just thought i would share a strange story. PART 2...not even 2 weeks later.... i got pulled over by a cop in monroe for my tint!! AND I KNOW my tint is legal! it just appeared darker cuz it was cloudy outside... the cop only glanced at my car (goign in the opposite direction) turned around and pulled me over! he was admiring the paintjob as he got out of his car (putting his grubby fingers all over the car, then he introduced himself and accused me of having improper tint. he put a machine on the window and it said 30 and he insisted the back window was darker cuz he couldnt see thru it. i tried to tell him u can usually see right thru but he was undetered. he asked about the paint job and gave me a warning. not that im ungrateful for not getting a ticket, but GOD!! if he just wanted to look at my car he could have found a better alternative!! GOD I HATE MONROE NORTH CAROLINA *##^@ RURAL AREA... /another visious rant by easternpiro.... This post has been edited by easternpiro1: May 9, 2006 - 12:47 PM -------------------- |

I bet if someone steal your car they don't see anything. That happens at my college, I always get tickets because the parking lot is full and I have to park wherever I can, But when I bought my DVD player I bought on Sunday, installed it on Tuesday, went to school on Thursday at 8 AM ( I had class from 8 AM 'till 10 AM ) when I went back to my car the radio was gone..
By the way I go to Essex County College in Newark which is right in front of the court building and the sheriff office. NO ONE SAW ANYTHING at the hour of the day This post has been edited by Culpable04: May 3, 2006 - 12:32 PM -------------------- |

Reminds me of when I was pulled over for "driving a suspicious car at an odd time of day."

ive had my celica nearly 2 years now and have been pulled over 18 times, on 2 occasions it was twice in one day. the excuses were
looking suspicious looking the opposite way of an officer when i was looked at wtf lookin too young to own a sportscar taking corners too quickly(the speed limit ) exhaust too load routine traffic stops(they always say this) i never got tickets jus warnings got pulled twice in 20 minutes for a check then turned off one road onto another and then a different cop pulled me. it does my head in they must get soo bored eating donuts -------------------- www.celicamod.com |

omg i got pulled over twice tonight. once by an undercover cop an the second by a normal cop. both apparently routine car checks
the cop asked me what i was doing so i said droping my mate off. he asked me where i lived(i live about 15mins away from my mates) an he said your abit out of your way arnt you. wtf. i just told him i was dropping my mate off and im 7 miles away from my house and he ses im abit out of my way. the second one said i looked suspicious driving so late. it was 11:30pm the cops realy dont seem to like me that means ive had my celica 20 months and been pulled 20 times = once a month hahaha im thinking of complaining about harrasment cos its happenin too often -------------------- www.celicamod.com |

I got caught street racing a little over a year ago. Kinda - my friend and I just pulled a quick 60 roll to 100MPH in a 50MPH zone then got buzzed by a Buick Grand National so it looked like a 3-way. Luckily the Buick got the worst of it as he got towed because he was ahead of us. I sorta got worried though because I was in second ahead of my friends 3rd gen V6 Eclipse and I thought I might get towed too. Quick talking got it reduced to speeding and no front liscence plate. In the end it was court costs, $10 dismissal fee for LP and defensive driving for me and my friend.
Long story short - I cannot pass a cop anymore without him getting behind me and running my plates for a few miles. That made me chill and no more street racing (most of the time anyway). Now I get pulled over for stupid reasons: 1. "Looking like I was going fast" - 5MPH under the speed limit WTF? 2. "Getting to the speed limit too quickly" - WTF? apparently there is a law for that here 3. "Looking suspicious" 4. Almost forgot - routine under the hood check for illegal moifications - and they never seem to realize that the Header is illegal here because it is a cat defeating device - LOL etc. Edit: Added #4 This post has been edited by Negative: May 12, 2006 - 9:37 AM -------------------- |

I never get pulled over just followed . Like I'll be sitting at a stop light and make a turn and the cop will follow me for a little bit then turn off. Like one day I seriously went to work (A 5min drive) and two different cops practically escorted me >_>. I swear cops in my town are bored, not many crimes to take care of...
Though , my brother just got pulled over a few days ago $192 ticket for doing 88 in a 45. And he's looking at a potential 5 points on his license. -------------------- |

Always amuses me that we only hear one side of the story when someone gets pulled over. And 9 times out of 10 they are never doing anything wrong
While there may be Police out there with the wrong attitude, how you handle the situation when you are pulled over more often that not has a huge beraing on whether you end up with a ticket. Don't try to be smart or agressive - you will not win. Just be polite and almost submissive and most of the time they'll respond in kind. But start arguing with them and try to make them look dumb and you're on a hiding to nothing. So many times there are threads started where people complain about the police and how they are harrassed by them, the Cops are all pigs and have nothing better to do, everyone heates them etc... but I wonder how many people, when they are in trouble, actually change their attitude and call on the police for assistance? This is not directed at anyone in particular, so no need to get all defensive - just something to think about. I have only been stopped once in the last few years. Police officer said I was speeding but had no proof. I just said that I was sorry if I had been, but was on my way back to work where I was need for an urgent case (I work in the OR). I wasn't speeding, but trying to argue the point wouldn't have helped. He simply said, okay, but keep your speed down and off I went. My age probably has a lot to do with it, but remember that there are a lot of youngsters out there who do drive like complete morons all the time putting other road users at risk. And Mr Policeman isn't going to know that you're not one of them. i agree with that, in that i rely on the police in other situations
But when you get pulled over 20 times in less than 2 years its very frustrating. im only 21 but i do drive reasonably sensibly unless im at a track or we get a road closed off for racing obviously. when i got pulled over twice the other day i had my 9week old daughter (Sophie Louise) in the back so i was easily 10 under the limit cos i'd never put my lil girl at risk. just gets frustrating being victimised by bored cops -------------------- www.celicamod.com |

i got pulled over a couple months ago for driving "suspiciously" because i was switching lanes pretty quick but not that quick, i mean just normal quick because apparently people dont know that slow traffic stays on the right, and 35 mph is the speed limit, not 25, i swear to god, if i didn't have my 4" tip exhaust, i would've never been pulled over, and probably if i was driving a domestic i would've never been pulled over, or a stock looking car for that matter
and wanna hear something interesting? he was standing at my window, and when his radio buddy radio him and said "red toyota" at that point, he said i'm free to go, maybe he just wanted to know what kinda car i was driving, because i do have my emblems removed, hmmmmm.....the world may never know, some cops are like that oh yeah, and i forgot to add something, when i was stopped, i had my windows pulled down all ready to chat with him, and when he came up to my door, i said "whats the problem, officer?" and he didn't say anything, he just looked at me, i'm like wtf, so i go "whats the problem officer?" for the second time, and he still doesn't answer me, he just stands there looking at me or wtf, i'm like wtf is this dude's problem? at this time im kinda pissed so i raised my voice a little but not by much and i go for the third freakin time "whats the problem, officer?" then he finally goes, "you were driving suspicously" blah blah blah blah.......damn, am I suppose to wait for him to talk to me first, or cant i talk to him first? confusing..... i dont know, ive been pulled over too many times for b.s. for it to be a coincidence. sometimes its just in the kind of car u drive. for example, as soon as i enter monroe today, i see a squad car approaching. im doing the speed limit but he waits unil the car in front of me to pass him, then he switches the radar on when im coming (i have a pretty decent radar detector, its pretty sensitive) i just thought it was funny.
on the other hand. monday i ran into a cop that was driving a charger (monroe always gets newer better stuff, than the larger city charlotte) we talked for a good 20 minutes about cars and he made fun of my 4 banger compared to his 380 whp charger. he told me how they were testing it and how they couldnt get it to spin out going around a corner at 70-80mph by the end of the time we talked, he told me if i ever needed anything, mention his name. kinda made my opinion of monroe police change a little.... -------------------- |
