Will the stock toyota cd players (double or single DIN) play the
cd - recordables? Any known problems?
Thanks!

I've got a double DIN - my CD player will play burned CDs most of the time, but sometimes it refuses to play them. Also, sometimes after listening to a burned CD for a while, it will start to make strange skipping, scratching sounds. Good times.

sometimes, its the brand of the media. Because I'm in the IT field and it is a common problem for optical drives not to play all different brands. Usually they work, but there are cases where the same CD will work in another player but not in the other. This is what I suspect because I experimented with different things.

yep - sometimes it depends on the colour of the CD or on the burning speed. burn everything slow.
and dont try to pack too much onto a CD. laugh.gif

Yeah they should work. Like everybody else has said. Stay away from crazy colors, and only burn Audio format on CD-R. They will not play CDRW or data.

colors have nothing 2do with playback cleaner =). just brand.

CD-R's work under 90min works, i've had some 90-95min ones skipping towards the end, but otherwise it works. the memory isn't so great on it. CD-RW won't. plus, no MP3's from CDR or RW or DVDR and DVDRW's. i recommend swapping it out just for the mp3 feature alone. i plan to do that as soon as somn comes along.
