Hello,

I recently had to replace my window regulator, which I did through use of a guide on here (very useful) however, the window now seems to sit too high and is catching on the rubber on the door whenever I close the door unless I push the window to close it then it is ok so it doesn't need a lot of adjustment. I tried adjusting it for about 2 hours yesterday with no luck as it is still the same, is there a special way to line the window up or does anyone know if the regulator can be adjusted at all?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Thank You

Nathan

easiest would be to remove the door trim, wind the window down about half way and then unfasten the 2 bolts that hold the window onto the winding mechanism. It has a fair amount of play in it so you should be able to line it up correctly that way.

I tried that and it still wont line up properly, there are 3 bolts that hold the window and I have had them all loose but when the window goes back down it moves again, it is driving me mad, bloody thing.

Thanks

the mechanism should be adjustable on the door and the window should be adjustable on the mechanism. You should have plenty of movement to line it up and it shouldn't move incorrectly once its all fastenent together again.

I would clean runners that the window slides in inside the door too. Does it only move incorrectly when the door is shut or when its open too? if its just when the door is shut it maybe sticking on the rubber seals too?

I got a scanned page from the Chiltons manual and it looks like it's the mechanism that needs adjusting, it would seem that I was adjusting the wrong bit smile.gif

Thanks
