i think mine isisnt as lound as yours jay, because i got the doubble wall, with the longer 7in tip . i daily drive my car and the exhaust is great with just one muffler on there. on the highway and at cruise speeds its really quiet, but roars when i get on it. its loud, but nothing i would get pulled over for. i think manny went with the same doubble wall muffler as i did and gave pretty much the same review.

on the other hand, jeffs hks muffer is REALLY LOUD.

One thing you guys have to remember is that the fabric roof allows much more noise in the cabin than your relatively well-sealed sheetmetal roofs.

this is 100% true btw. And i also agree that for a daily driver you dont want the attention that your car will get all the time if you have such a loud exhaust. You want the power to be hidden until you need it, not to be challenged at every light. (not that i know what thats like with my 5s)

Art, you know that "double wall" only refers to the tip don't you? I can assure you it has nothing to do with sound. The inside of your tip looks prettier than mine because it has a polished stainless second "wall" on the inside. Thats what you get for about $50.

no i didnt know that. i thought maybe it had something to do with the muffler design.

my muffler was only about 120bucks shipped. i didnt know they had something even cheaper then that.

Lagos for some reason I dont believe your exhaust is quiet on the highway. With a 3" exhaust, no cat, no resonator and just a 14" muffler. Are you saying you have absolutely not drone when cruising @ 3000rpm?

Oh and that 5"x8"x30" muffler is going to drag on the floor man. I tried fitting a muffler that big for my mid-muffler and there was no way it would work with a lowered car. I ended putting a 4" diameter x 18" long mid-muffler.

If the muffler shop manages to fit that thing without it dragging on the floor, please do take pictures as I would be interested to see!

Speedy, I sure hope your wrong because I have already sent my 7" round back. When we lined it up, it looked like it hung down 2" too far so I am somewhat optimistic. I guess we'll see.

I still have my stock muffler on the back of my celica and i have my 14" magnaflow race series oval under the car where the first muffler and second cat use to be. i have the muffler with and angle peice porting the exhaust to the ground.

so all in all all i have is the stock 3s cat in the DP and about 2ft of 2.5 pipe with my magnaflow at the end.

Parked it looks totally stock tho.

It maybe the fact that its right under me but cruzin on the freeway the car has a loud hum lol

i agree with art about the sound of the car on the highway.
we have the same muffler.
as long as your cruising, i dont find it "drony" at all. especially if your driving under 80. as you get higher in the RPM's (over 4k) it does tend to get a little bit louder, but i still dont find it "drony"
is it louder than stock? definetly.
but, it is rather tame till you actually get on it.
yea, i knew the double wall thing is just the tip... i liked the fancy look over the single wall. wink.gif

Great choice on the exhaust. I definitely prefer lower dB on higher power cars. smile.gif Now that I kissed your ass can you please tell me more about your turbo setup especially manifold and downpipe?! wink.gif

If you are talking to me, the manifold is stock 3s, the downpipe is custom fabricated.

eh i think it would be alright if it wasnt so grey lol

LOL. The muffler is brushed stainless steel. Its going UNDER the car - you won't see any of it unless you crawl under the car. Some of you rice boys crack me up. For me exhaust is about performance and keeping the car quiet. A distant third factor is the exhaust note and even further behind is how the visible part looks.

i am not a riceboy! and i thought u ment dual exhaust...

lol but other than that i guess it would be okay... put some color on the one sticking out! lol

black cars and a bright muffler dont mix

Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D

Well, the second muffler is installed. Here are the results:

1. The sound got slighty deeper thumbsup.gif
2. The sound at idle is dramatically quieter thumbsup.gif
3. The cruising around town sound is a little quieter - noticable but not dramatic thumbsup.gif
4. The on gas drone at 3000 rpms in 4th or 5th gear is about the same thumbsdown.gif

Considering that #4 was all I was really concerned about, I would say that it was not money well spent. I am truly surprised that adding that big mofo didn't really help all that much with the drone. Oh well.

what about a glasspack resonator? my friend had a 3 foot added and it killed the highway drone at speeds below 70.

I almost forgot you Speedy. The muffler fits.... We had to do a little JDM modding with a big hammer but, hey, this is high performance baby.
