confused.gif Hi Guys, just joined the forum and need some advice on performance mods.

My baby is a '94 Celica 2.0 GT coupe and I am looking to increase it's performance somewhat, though I am not looking for a big or expensive change... YET! but more of a first step, to improve performance. Any advice and links would be great.

Thanks

Well, I'll tell ya before everyone else does. Click on the little search button on the upper right of the forums screen. Then search performance. Read every thread there, you'll learn a lot and it should answer most of your questions. After that, we'd be happy to answer any other questions you had.

Well, from what ive seen there really is no way to gain any significant performance cheaply....it all comes with money, and eventually you'll have a well tuned engine. Although your 2.0 engine has much more performance acessories available than the USDM Celicas do, so feel lucky. wink.gif Heres a few things to look into and research that would give you a little more edge on your performance-

1.) Intake setup
2.) Cat-back Exhaust
3.) Header
4.) Underdrive pulley
or even....
5.) Stage 1 clutch- better handling of engine power for acceleration
6.) Lightened Flywheel- Can deliver more crank horsepower to the ground, meaning more power/accereration.

The first four mods together would give you a noticable gain, but nothing too impressive....although the last 2 would change the nature of the car more dramaticly. Then, at that point you can upgrade your fuel system and ignition components to deliver more fuel and ignite it better to create yourself a well-tuned N/A engine...or add on a turbo or supercharger for some serious boost. But just take a look in the performance section on the forums and the parts database on this site, and get to know whats available. Good luck, and welcome to the site smile.gif
