I am having a very difficult time figureing out why I cant get any spark. The car turns over but gets no spark. I have replaced the dsistributor cap and rotor, the plug wires, the plugs, the coil and the igniter. I am not getting any spark from the coil but I get 12 volts from the coil when using a multimeter with thew ignition on.does anyone have any other ideas as to what the problem could be? Maybe my ECU? Is there a wire that goes from the distributor that tells the coil/igniter to spark or is it on a indepent system? Any help would be greatly appreciative. Thanks

theres a trigger that serves 2 purposes, tells the PCM engine speed and tells when to fire spark. i'll take pics of my service book later of you could probably look it up on celicatech.
if that trigger fails then you wont get spark. i have to run to class, i can try to explain in more detail later. This post has been edited by Bitter: Sep 21, 2006 - 4:23 PM -------------------- |

I've recently changed the distributor on the vehicle, checked the voltage of igt signal at the ecm, made sure voltage is coming to the igniter, and that voltage is present at ecu. When I try to jump E1 and T1 of the diagnostic box the check engine light never blinks it just stays on constanly. There is voltage to E1 terminal. Does that mean my ecm is bad?

My next step is to change the ECM. |
