I have been shopping around for rotors and I come up on nice rotors but they are all specified for the gt is there really a difference if they are the same year in st and GT for rotors. for example could I buy ones specified gor gt and use them on my st?

the front GT rotors are bigger than the front ST rotors and wont fit in the backplate.
i believe the rear GT rotors are the same size as the front ST...dont quote me on that one though -------------------- |

QUOTE So just the rotor and caliper, i don't need the caliper mounting bracket? Correct - the hubs and brake lines are the same, so nothing else is needed. Except brakes pads. -------------------- Scott

I'd have expected you to need the brakets too tbh, as the st discs are 255mm and the gt are 275mm, however, if you measure the gap between the edge of your current disc and the inside gap of the bracket then you'd know if theres 20mm gap then you can fit them in.

The GT calipers sit further out from the hub then the ST calipers to allow for the larger rotors - basically the bracket your expecting is built into the GT calipers.
I just did this swap about 2 months ago on my ST. -------------------- Scott

OK, I was just thinking that because the calipers are in 2 pieces then people may just get the actual caliper piece and not the bracket. As I have never got a replacement caliper I didn't know what you get, but thinking about it cos the caliper is integral with the bracket then you should get both with the new ones. ok, everyones happy.

i did a full ST to GT swap UK cars and had to change the full wheel station to get the GT front disk in. the ST rear plate was just too small to house the GT disks.
have you any pics of swapping the GTs on to ST plates. Maybe its the US models are different. i also stripped a SSII (completely) and they are the same size as the GT Kev -------------------- Gen 6 Celica in Red with VVTI Beams engine, lowered 40mm, front and rear strut braces, asia tec 17 inch alloys, avon ZZ2 tyres, Rage Back box and a decat, JDM rear lights, red bits on the dash and clock shroud and a DVD player.
