I got just about 400 bucks to spend...what's something good? Just for a deck. I can get speakers later, but I'm just talking the deck.

Also...how many speakers does the Celi have? What should I look for in a stereo...4/6/8 speaker decks?

My carcame with an upgraded stereo when it was first sold ot whoever. It has two factory amps and the only way to put in a new deck si to bypass those...and in that case the sound quality would be worse than it is now unless I got new amps. It sucks, but I guess I'll just go with I dunno...something else. Maybe a CD changer or one of those Neo Car Jukeboxes.

The real deal is that it has one amp that controls the fornt two speakers and then one that controls the four rear tweeters. It sucks because this system is incompatible with newer stereos I guess. I dunno...really sucks.

This is a Toyota factory stereo, just the upgraded package. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I just got a new Panasonic deck. I love it! It has a removable flip face, built in eq, sub and total speaker control. Plus a whole bunch of other crap, but my fav feat is the glowing blue face. I guess it just depends on what your looking for. Maybe check out some of the Panasonic, Clairon, or Sony decks. Check out this site

Good Luck

The main story is though...I can't just get a new deck. If I wanted a new deck that had good sound...I'd have to basically get new speakers, tweeters, amps....everything. That would suck.

Um. I think your kind of doing things backwards. The first and best upgrade for your stereo is to get some half decent speakers before changing anything else. Ask anyone in the know and they will tell you to change the factory speakers before you change anything else.

I changed the speakers in my girls MR2 to some JBL's ( Junk But Loud ) and it sounded 10 times better than stock speakers.

If your not happy with the sound after you change your speakers then go for a new deck.

What kind of set up are you running with 4 tweeters in the rear??? maybe thats got something to do with your sound quality

Got to agree with siKBOY here...change your speakers first.
The original speakers are CRAP!
In my case, my original JVC head unit pushes out 4x8W RMS and the original speakers are 15W max. input.
I changed my speakers to Oxygen Sphere ones (140/150W max. input) and noticed an enormous difference in sound quality.

I don't know....maybe it was 4 speakers in front and two tweeters in back. Buthwatveer the case...the 6th Gen Celi's must have come with an optional package to have an upgraded sound system. He said if I wanted a enw deck....then they'd have to bypass the existing toyota factory amps and wire to the speakers which he said would sound worse. So I guess if I just got new speakers. I'll check it out. Thanks for replies.
