QUOTE
I realize that's shocking, but one day you'll all have to grow up and realize it. If everytime you hear certain words you get offended, you are going to have a hard time in life. Invest in some ear plugs in order to shield yourself from reality and especially don't go to comedy clubs.

lol, you obviously are not in touch with reality. i go to comedy clubs and one of my favorite comics happens to be lewis black who singles out every type of person. but he doesnt do it by race or color.

Wow, one comedian that doesn't talk about race. I didn't say every comedian did, but a lot do. Carlos Mencia, Robin Williams, George Carlin, Daniel Tosh, etc. The list goes on. Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, etc.

Reality is that there is hatred in the world. Tolerance is the only answer. Hating people that hate makes you no better than them. The end.

You are as much of a bigot as he is for hating him, or judging him, for what he did and said.

QUOTE

big‧ot  /ˈbɪgət/ [big-uht]
–noun
a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

So, I'm not out of touch with reality, I am very much in touch. I realize there is hate in the world. I'm just thankful that I don't hate people, and I don't hate people that do. I feel sorry for those such as yourself, and many people in this thread that harbor hate for your fellow bigots.

I find it ironic that if a white person says anything like this everyone jumps on their backs, where as people like Kanye West can spue racist crap all day and nobody demands an official apology.

Everyone should truely close their eyes, and imagine living in the world of slavery. It feels imaginary, but it's not. It really happened, and white people treated black people like animals.

That is why we do not use derogatory terms towards black people.

I agree.

but what I would like to know is what was said by Michael before the "comments" happen. Was he talking about nothing (usual comedy stuff) or something about shocking ? or shocking people or words ect.

So that gives black people the right to say whatever they want about whites? On the last MTV music awards Kanye was doing a tribute to some black guy who made rap videos and he said "black film maker" what if a white guy would have been doing the tribute. There would have been an uproar. When it comes to race issues there is a double standard, and the minorites are overly sensative about everything.

guys let's not make this a back and forth racist type thing.

the way things are with black people using racist terms and the "black film maker" terms is the current culture of this country because of what had happen for over 400 years.

Honestly I don't give a crap if a any guy uses any racist term to describe someone of their own race.

it is probably will be the way it will always be because of the current culture of this country. Plain and simple.

yeah its all a double standard. id like to know exactly what the heckler said to him to get a reaction like that. two wrongs dont make a right, but at the same time, i think the heckler must have called him a cracker or something to make him start yelling like he did.

Id forgive him. Ive been upset and out of anger said things I shouldnt have when I felt people were disrespectful to me. We all say things we shouldnt and dont realize what we said till after the fact.
I threatened to kick a guys arse at dodgeball cuz he hit me in the face but didnt say sorry. I threatened to beat a "pansy tanning arse mother focker" for parking too close to my car cuz I couldnt get out cuz he left me 3 inches of room" sometimes u cant control ur mouth when ur upset and then once youve cooled down you realize it was stupid.

Black comedians make fun of whites all the time, in fact, all comedians make fun of other races, all the time
Imagine a white person calling a black comedian a ni**er after the comedian made remarks about white people just like that black guy in the club called Richards a cracker? And no one is talking about that, why? Because it's far more politically incorrect to make fun of blacks than it is to make fun of whites

Total double standard if you ask me

I'm gonna have to go with South Park's reasoning on this one : Either EVERYTHING is okay or NOTHING is.

I personally feel that insulting/attacking anybody over anything that is outside of their power or their core beliefs (race, religion, sexuality, broken home, disability, etc.) is highly inappropriate and should not be tolerated...

Obviously circumstances are different in every situation, but 99.9% of the time I think that it is incredibly ignorant to give equal weight to any minority making fun of "white" people vs. a white person making fun (or degrading, as most often it is) of any minority... When a black person calls you (assuming you are a white person) a cracker, do you feel any less of a person? I highly doubt you do, because as someone with white skin, you have been looked at as a peer in society for as long as history has taught you... On the flip side, if you put yourself in a minority's shoes (go back to history class now), how often have they been oppressed by "white" society (read European descent with Christian roots)? If you care to disagree I will call you ignorant with no shame, because society in our country as a whole has very rarely looked at anyone else other than "that" definition as a peer. With that weight on your shoulders, you have to deal with people who innately feel superior to you with no basis other than "that’s just how I feel, and nothing you can do will prove me otherwise" attitude. How powerless does a group of oppressed people feel when that is thrown in their face? No matter how hard they try to assimilate into the culture, they still are below the "majority" in some people's eyes, and it is used as a weapon... So when a minority points out the ridiculousness of "white" culture (or the animosity towards), I feel that they have a much better basis to support that argument, versus some people's argument that "anything other than white is below us, just because..."...

With logic like that Hitler would be free to commit genocide if the world lived the way you say it should... Tolerance has it's limits when it infringes on other's rights as human beings to live their life as they are.

Tolerating opression leads to the end of Democracy. The end.

I agree with you Nat- but there is a strong distinction between degrading one's self and those who degrade others who are different from themselves...

What happened in the past should stay in the past. The fact that instead of learning from what happened, we sorta don't. To tell you the truth I dislike any racism at all. Howeevr you cant really do anything about it. People use the word F**k all the time right? Especially when cursing at someone... calling people racist words are now engraved into everyone of us as an insult.

Again...... I hate RACIST people...... but you cant escape it one way or another... What troubles me is that a lot of people sometimes take it too far and use the racist card to eagerly. Plus what bothers me more nowadays is that..... whenever people here "racism" its always white ------> @ blacks...

WRONG !!----- not anymore...

I every race there will be a handfull of people that are racist towards itself or against another race. One way or another..

Many of us have an automatic response to anger, hate, pissed off etc. We curse PERIOD. It's a way of showing anger and somehow possibly demoralize the other party we are angry at... yea well... like the word (insert curses here) attacking one's race during a fit is also a response...

Am I racist for believing this? No... In every race we have a good side, and we have a bad side.

To not offend anyone let me make an example of my own. I'm Asian - Filipino. And of course like all RACE there is two categories. Bad one and a good one. There are filipinos and flips. Although Flip is not as a bad word compared to certain other things because it wasnt emphasize nor do people really care.

Getting angry doesn't make you racist... being ignorant does.

From my experience, going to an area or living in an area with a one majority dominant race tends to create racism...

An example from my own experience, I live in Brooklyn all my life. I went to a neighborhood were the majority is black. My high school was 98.9 black and Im one of the 3 people (not three percent) that make up the asian population in my school. My friends were mix, everytime we travel to go see a movie hang out, we're like a melting pot.

White friend (Italian) of mine dating a black a girl
Black friend of mine (Whose a puertorican jewish) datin a white girl
as well as more.

For four years in high school, I received just as much racist comments as any one race living in a different pre dominant race neighborhood/school. It friggin happens...

all jokes aside, I had many black people even kids looked at me as if I was inferior because I was DIFFERENT. Thats how ignorance work and thats how racism work. If you see someone inferior just because he/she is different from the others around you is friggin racism- because its ignorance, and thats what pisses me.

White being racist towards black? yea it happens, especially probably in a caucasian dominant neighborhoods.

But it's the same FOR EVERY scenario

Black, asian, white, spanish - whatever race its all the same. One way or another people will be racist. Depending on the dominance of the race, will yield the answer to that. dont believe me? Look at your school and neighborhood etc.

What he said is bad..... but... what bothers me right now is how come you put so much weight on the N word? Isn't calling him a "mot*******r" also bad tongue.gif

Is he really racist? Maybe, maybe not. He's angry, what do you expect an angry person to do? He singled him out without thinking by his skin color? It was very stupid.. but damn man... you can't hang the guy because of that. So what if the guy was chinese or something else and he calls him a degrading word that specifically aimed at that race? Would there be any difference?

The N word is stupid... White person cant use it, but the blacks can? Because of slavery issues? Dude how can the past end if everytime something happens a peson rides that with no hesitation. I'm not siding with any race here but just to let you guys know, the worse RACE ever TREATED in the history of United States, isn't black. It's the Native Americans! One way or another every race right now is doing well. Look at where the Native Americans are right now, many of them are still in some sort of reservation in the middle of nowhere. They are one of the most poorest race in the US. Their land got stolen, women and children got raped, their way of life was ruined (religion, their beliefs), forced into slavery, their history was destroyed, tribes were wiped out bc of war + diseased... I can go on!

That's why I'm friggin sick of people using the past as a reason..... It doesnt apply anymore because, theres no ONE specific race thats racist... everyone is one way or another.

Regarding that thing... yea the richard dude's reaction was stupid. But face it..... that dude that interupted him is a complete ass... you dont like it the show then leave.. Don't be an a*s and show some respect regardless..

I'm not RACIST but in my mind I've grown my own THEORY

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE FOR EVERY RACE IN THIS WORLD.
1 - ONE TYPE IS THE ACTUAL ONES YOU CAN GET ALONG WITH. PEOPLE THAT YOU LITERALLY DONT SEE ANYMORE DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER PERSON BESIDE YOU. PEOPLE THAT MAKES UP 70% OF THE POPULATION. PROBABLY MORE?

2 - THEN THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO REALLY DO FIT IN THE CATEGORY OF (INSERT "RACIST" NAME HERE OF WHATEVER RACE ITS AIMED AT). THESE ARE PEOPLE THAT ACTS LIKE IT TO A POINT THAT IT BECOMES A CATEGORY AND THUS THESE TYPE OF PEOPLE DESERVES IT.

In the end it's in the character of the person that really judges what type of person you are. Well if you act like it then you are it and thus you deserve it. biggrin.gif

the difference between calling someone a mother F'er and N'er is that when you call some one an F'er you are not attacking somthing unrelated to behaviour... Huge difference... F'er is a personality characteristic, N'er is a skin tone...

what i find funny is the whole "we're black so we deserve money" train is coming on down the line to sue richards and the comedy club. go figure, a black guy gets oppressed and decides to get a lawyer. al sharpton, jesse jackson, and the rest of tard crew are all starting in on this, like they have anything to do with it in the first place.

in the video, you can clearly hear the guy threatening richards, after his rant. i don't support richards for what he did, i think it was uncalled for, but i believe an apology on national television and maybe a small, charitable donation to some college fund should take care of it.

if people sued every time someone was a racist, there'd be *lots* of lawsuits goin around right now.
