i shorted out my power locks

i have the 94 st with the manual locks that move together when you push one down. i was inside the door when i realized a couple of the wires coming out of the actuator were bare and touched together. i heard something click, like a blown fuse, and the power locks stopped working.

i checked my fuse boxes, and didn't find anything.

the locks were messing up for a while before that. when pushed it down, it would go down, then immediatly pop back up. it would do this on it's own for 2 or three times, then stop.

if anybody knows what is wrong with this, please help me. i posted during the summer with no response. i was thinking about getting remote entry, and i need this to work.

thank you for your help.

first check all the fuses again, there is the interior fuse box (under the dash) and one in the engine bay. Be very sure that all fuses are no blown.

next there are probably 2 things that could be wrong. One being the switch itself (the one on the door where the power window buttons are - do you have power windows or manual ?)

the other is the door lock control unit. It's located under the dash near the ignition. It's a blue box if I remember correctly. That would be my guess.

edit: check the B/S forum, there are a few members parting out their cars, I'm sure you could get the parts there

I had a problem like this a little while back.. It was my "door control module." Not that you have exactly the SAME problem, but could be the same module that needs replacing.

Read more about what happened with mine (with part number): http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=33750&hl=

I see now that Batman722 also said it could be the same unit that i had mentioned. And to confirm -- it is blue.
