I just installed a VIS carbon fiber hood[u] with the vents and the one and only problem that I have during installation is that it doesn't lock even though it closes to proper fiitment. I concluded that maybe that the hook that's attached on the hood may be too short, which means it may not be reaching far enough into the latch in order to lock. Has anyone installed this type of hood before and encountered the same problem as I? If so, what did you do to correct it?

Thanks,
nemesis

Yes, I am sure it's not locking because after I press it down to close and it levels out, it pops right back out of lock!
Do you think that I should extend the hook by cutting and welding! Don't know what I should do here! Please HELP!

I had the same problem. you have to loosen the two nuts on the hood latch and raise it as high up as possible. i still had to give it a strong push to close it though, dont worry the hood is very strong.

Hood pins... ???

Thats the thing im gonna do for sure when i get my cf hood from vis. Thats cos one of my friend was driving on the highway with his mk3 supra like 120km/h when his hood popped out and smashed the windshield. I wont want the same thing happen to me. And i like the look of some decent hoodpins alot those just gives something to the hood.

Yeah, but the thought of drilling a hole into carbon fiber makes my stomach cringe. kindasad.gif

Ive noticed that, on the Highway, my VIS hood vibrates in the middle behind the vent and in front of the squirters VERY badly. ANybody else have this problem??
