ok 5grand to get me 300hp or more what all parts do i need dont add in labor i got that down let me know

with 5 grand you can turbo charge your stock motor. But you will probably only get 250 hp.

I dont know the exact cost of a 3sgte motor swap will cost, but its around 5-7 grand, but with this option you can easily go past the 300 hp marker.

Tufy's has has 600bhp.. which is to the wheels... True? AWD hasa large amount of power loss from the crank to wheels... I've read up to 20%... So now I"m actually curious on Tufy's crank hp... anyone?

isn't it
bhp = crank
whp = wheels
?

so expressing tuffy's #s as bhp isn't probably true

so tuffy is probably near 750 bhp if he's 600whp

guys.. the dyno i have been was a rolling dyno.. that means power is measures as whp then calculated to hp.. i have arround 500 whp@1.5 bars which means 600-650.. only limit for me is block.. i know 3sgte's running over 700 bhp but i wanna be save and here is where i stop..

You didn't specify what generation Supra you're trying to beat, so as long as you race a stock '81 Supra you'll be fine. Heck, you won't even need to alter your stock 5SFE! The MKI had a 2.8L V6 that only put out 116bhp, so the trick here isn't to improve your Celica, but to lower your standards! The end.

I was actually thinking today, what if the 5s could reach 400hp? I mean there's alot of internals parts out there that I've never really seen anybody with. if you did forged pistons and rods, metal head gasket, a really good turbo set-up (as in, not a ct-26), cams, port and polish the head, and a good fuel and ignition set-up, then could the 5sfe reliably make like 350-400 hp? I mean, it's made close to 250 with a moderate turbo set-up.

can it do it, yes with enough money and work

reliably....NO

save the money don't waste your time trying to push more then 300 if that on 5sfe...you'd be wiser to invest otherplaces

oh, I wasn't planning on trying it. I was just thinking hypothetically. but, really, what exactly is stopping it from being reliable?

If you don't have the will to search this forum for the answers to your questions, you don't have the will to put forth the GRAND amount of effort to make your car AWD, turbo your car, swap your car, or beat a Supra. You're starting with a not-so-great platform as a Celica fwd. These are my personal opinions, but I think you lack the self-reliance to do reach these goals if you have to ask us all these questions.

I don't mean to put you down, by all means, do it man. Give it a shot.

wow that a cool topic to talk about,well it going to take a whole lot of money and all the stuff your going to throw into going to blow the motor because that camary motor real not made for raceing.Now if your talking about mr 2 that could be close.It a good idea,getting a super charager or turbo will help.I would get a high performance motor and tranmission in order to get to wear you are.You could swap the motor to a v6 camry motor.I read some add v6 to mr2.I think the highest you will get that car to is about 300 hp anything else will blow the motor.even with the trd kit they have for the celica it get more horse power but not enough to beat a supra.Good luck though
