our toyota engines dont really need msd ignition boxes like you see the honduh boys have bolted on their firewall. Unless you have force induction, I say take off the MSD, and just upgrade your plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The whole premise of an upgraded ignition system is a bigger, stronger, better spark. Really, except for boosted cars that blow out spark often, there's not much to be gained. Some cars may gain HP, ours most certainly do not. In fact, our cars have impressively strong ignition systems.

Hmmm, dont know if this helps any, but maybe your ignitor isnt grounded...erhem, on my old 3sfe, once i installed my msd, my car woldnt start because i had taken my ignitor of the firewall ( what im guessing is that it was grounded to the firewall), but when i ran a few grounds from the ignitor it started fine...hmm, hope this helps..

I have one on mine and have had it for about 2 years. After about 6months my stock Coil literally blew out and actually burned a mark on the fire wall. Other than that everything worked great and does now. I just replaced the stock coil with a Blaster 2 and all is well. IDK how to install one on a 7A-FE though cause the coil is part of the cap?
