i went to meineke the other day and they quoted me $600 for a new cat-back exhaust. i thought that was outragous because i could buy a perfomance exhaust and do it myself for cheaper than that.
i was looking on ebay for a new exhaust, nothing special. i just need something cheap to pass inspection this month. here's what i found. Ebay link anybody know the quality of these parts? is everything included to replace from the cat-back? thanks, dan |

thats a stock catback, yes. after you pass smog drop the rear muffler you can bolt on an axle back to get whatever sound you want.

Be careful with ebay because most parts won't have any warranty. Most aftermarket exhausts are fairly low quality, so if you plan to keep the car for more than a year or two, I'd be sure to get one with a good warranty.

If i were you, I'd try to find a Greddy sp2 catback exhaust. High quality stuff. They're about $500 new. Greddy has stopped selling them for our cars, but if you call around enough/emails etc, you can find one. I'm using one for a project i'm working on now...
Here is some info i have copied/pasted for you: QUOTE -Full Stainless Steel Catback Exhaust -Classic GReddy Looks, Sound, & Performance -High Polished Oval Muffler and Tapered Tip -Thick1.2mm Mandrel-Bent Piping -Street-Tuned Straight-Through Design -Emissions Compliant -Sound Tested (under 95dba) -Bolt-on Installation QUOTE Greddy SP 2 Exhaust System in FULL STAINLESS STEEL! The Greddy SP2 features a 304 stainless steel muffler canister with extra strong 430 SS end caps that feature a deep, high polish. Large, high volume mufflers provide maximum flow with a deep, pleasing tone and are especially effective when used on vehicles with aftermarket turbocharger systems. The unique outer curled oval tip is embossed with the famous Greddy logo. Employing state-of-the-art robotic seam welding, the single wall canisters feature increased rigidity for maximum durability and life. Hope this helps! edit: If you search around here, you can find video/sound clips etc of this system.
